Disappointed. Hunan chicken very bland, fried rice tasted like softer version of the brown rice in with a few peas and onions. Bourbon chicken tasted more like a very bland general Tsao, it was fried and breaded. Usually it is regular, unbreaded chx, and a sweet bourbon sauce. My daughter had the wonton soup and she said that was good. We literally took two bites of each and packed up the food. My son probably won't mind it or know the difference , he'll eat anything. Was it awful? My daughter thinks so. Vegetables under cooked , tasted like they sat in the hot dog water. Service was not very friendly. My daughter sat at the booth while I was parking the car. Did not realize it was order on your own and then they'll bring it to you. Never bothered to say "when you're ready come over and I'll take your order". And when I went up to order the young girl was on her phone and didn't put it down right away. I realize there are different versions and styles of cooking Hunan Chinese restaurant food but this was by far the most unsatisfying Chines restaurant I've...
Read moreThe good, the bad, and the meh. We tried this restaurant on October 25th, ordering a carryout dinner through their website which was attractive and easy to use. That part of the experience was good! The pickup at the store was good, too! Ready on time. But then came the food.
Receipt from Hunan Royale #1116-5521 Sesame Shrimp; Shrimp Egg Roll (For Two); Roast Pork Egg Roll (For Two); Fried Dumplings (8); Wonton Soup; General Tso Chicken; + Tip = $53.30 (We planned for leftovers)
Though we ordered 4 total egg rolls (trying the 2 types offered) we weren't given any kind of sauce to go with them. No hot mustard, no duck sauce, nada. Also, the crunchy noodles that came with the wonton soup were stale, dry, & cheap. The entrees themselves were just Meh. Paid extra for fried rice but didn't get it. Also didn't get the pint of white rice expected with the main entree. All in all the food was tepid, kind of bland, and disappointing. Nice people, Meh food. Our...
Read moreAMAZING FOOD and great customer service! Seeing some negative views and positive views I was unsure if I should go but wow Im surprised why people don't like the fried rice. Honestly that's how fried rice should taste like since I eat Chinese food all the time at many different places. That's just how chinese restaurants make the rice. Unless you want more of a strong taste you can tell them to add msg and it will be so unhealthy. They don't add msg to the rice but if you want to ask them too. I suggest calling in your order since they get pretty busy around dinner time. In the morning we came in but they were super busy so dining in around that time isn't really a good idea because the tables were all full. We ordered the New General chicken for $15 and it was totally worth it. Large portion and the chicken was delicious and surprisingly the fried potatoes with sweet tangy general tso chicken sauce was AMAZING, I highly...
