The Great Mall was really nice. They had a lot of the good clothing stores. It was almost like an Outlet mall. We scored some fantastic bargains. I was really having a good time until my Husband tried one of the ARCADE GAME MACHINES THAT TEST YOUR REFLEXES AND SKILLS. YOU CAN WIN PRIZES LIKE an IPHONE OR NINTENDO SWITCH or EARBUDS. All you have to do is stop the clock at the precise moment and the game will push your prizes off the shelf and YOU WIN ALL THESE INCREDIBLE PRIZES. You pay with your credit card. We’re looking for the cost and there’s nothing. It’s just a giant white box. Then we see $5/play. Ok that sounds about right and he swipes his card. The game gives him 5 tries to stop the clock at the precise moment to win. Each time he’s so close to winninġ but missing it by a hair. He tries for a 4th and last time because he’ll be out $20 and that’s enough. All of a sudden a fraud alert from his bank comes on his phone. There is a total of $100 for trying this game 4 times. The signage said $5/play. Each time you play you get 5 tries at $5 a piece or $25 a shot. When you swipe your card there is no total shown. You have no clue what is being charged to your card. This borders on being fraudulent to me. What bothers me the most is these games are marketed towards children. How many kids probably lost a month’s worth of allowance trying this game? Or got in trouble because they used their parents’ credit card and can’t explain why there’s a $100 charge on it. These arcade games are mixed in with other arcade machines that sell cheap toy Pokémon’s. If I knew we would be charged $100 for absolutely NOTHING I would have rather spent the money buying something from one of their cool stores. This Is not how you suppose to treat...
Read moreBuilt from the old Ford Manufacturing Plat that used to stand on this site is now the Great Mall. Probably the largest installed shopping area in the town it boasts tons of shops and a circumference large enough to get a decent workout from (and I believe is often open for older folks to have morning walk throughs as a social service and is awesome). Originally installed as a sort of outlet mall you can find pretty good deals and prices but I have found this to be not a consistent experience across their stores. They range from clearance style warehouse sized shops to smaller corner shops throughout. They have a decent sized food court with a lot of options and there are small wall eateries throughout. It also boasts entertainment in the form of Dave and Busters and now Century Theaters is the next door neighbor because in this day and age, all malls must have a Cineplex. If I had a complaint, it would be the lack of cut throughs. The mall is really big and it takes a while to get around it since it is shaped like a donut. There is only one cut through to shorten your walking distance when getting form A to F and if they are on opposites of the donuts, you've got a hike. Otherwise... this...
