I think Minneapolis College is the place to go if you want a quality Two-Year degree, and its a great starting point if you have plans to pursue a four year program in the future, this college will prepare you for what to expect before you move on to get that Bachelors degree. With lots of programs to get involved in, there is something for everyone here, and friendly staff will make getting signed up a breeze! Stop by campus, located right on the edge of downtown Minneapolis (across the street from the Basilica of St. Mary's) @ 1501 Hennepin Ave. S.

This review is only for the weight room. The music is horrible. I don't want to listen to jazz music when I'm working out. The attendant on duty said they don't have access to the music... I doubt that. The equipment is a bit old but usable and has a good variety. It's missing some machines like leg extension and some specialized benches. But overall a good selection for a free-for-students gym and convenient if you're already on campus.

I took the advice of my nieces, the directors of The Family Partnership Organization, & Most of it was rewarding to Myself thinking I was never this smart. Funny this I got a G.E.D. when I was 17 yrs, I enrolled in MCTC College after passing the college entry level testing that you must take & pass all the requirements.

It's ok if your there in one area as like me I was in a technical class where they where all in the same area everyday and it is the HvacR I'm getting my diploma in a few months I've gone here for more then 4-5 yrs part time and full too if you aren't a school body type and unsure of even going!!!? ? Make sure you are going to have those classes there for when you plan to go I know they closed a few programs like the electricity program is gone now barbers school is gone also so I would definitely look into what your going for if you are there to get some general classes out of the way it's ok in your general classes you'll get about every race in it's not all that bad with the cultural part or the ethics of other nationalities you don't really see in the classroom when at the cafeteria for lunch tho you might want to consider somewhere else down the block for better prices and quality and I do have to say once the downtown shelters let everyone out for the day so they can do whatever they do to just kick out homeless people daily weather don't matter they'll be in MCTC IN ALL THE MAIN AREAS HARASSING YOU FOR A SMOKE OR MONEY IF YOUR OUTSIDE AND THEY USE ALOT OF THE BATHROOMS IN OUR SCHOOL TO CLEAN THEMSELVES OFF RIGHT IN THE SINKS WITH NO WORRIES ABOUT LEAVING BUGS BEHIND FROM THEM IVE SEEN A PRETTY NASTY TOILET SEAT IVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT YET !!! So as far as I will go with ratings rate your teacher before starting your classes especially if there's like 4-5 to choose from there's some that go a lot out of there way to help you figure something out and there's others that are just starting to be a teacher and really don't have any experience in the field of helping explaining things in different forms so you can try getting it from other forms of speaking or showing it instead of talking about it inexperienced in some fields they should have hired someone totally different there's some advice on your teachers the school itself in general it's a convenient place for a college easy to get to if on bus or other transportation it's relatively a clean school except the Bathrooms Rooms are. Usually in bad condition in the T building is where you'll find most the homeless sleeping just sitting there killing time till they can go back to there shelter or get there free meals in the day but that's my biggest complaint about the school is there security on the homeless people and the safety of all around the school because the homeless I feel like there coming to our school to try and take advantage of the ones they know have money and really it gets to be a real dirty place to me because of that I'm glad I had all my classes in one main area where there really is know one but my peers from my classes and my teachers and bathrooms are decent if not I probably would have left a couple years ago and they have probably the best 2 yr program for Any HVAC-R in Minnesota I believe it's the biggest out of all the technical schools throughout MN so they have there perks as well as downfalls that may make you want something else.... you won't get homeless people approaching you at St Paul college but it's a little harder by the bus or getting to if taking a bus I'm pretty sure it's not like almost every bus going to Minneapolis goes right past the school or close enough it's only a couple blocks you might have to work parking is good if you drive just got to deal with all the traffic coming in or leaving and just your downtown traffic as well can get on the annoying side once in awhile other then that you should already been here a long time ago I just turned 36 today thinking I was going to be one of The older or oldest in most my classes and age is just a number when you are here you'll find all different ages coming and talking to or with but believe me you will not be the oldest one there and don't be afraid to start school back up for...

My experience with MCTC was downright awful. It was so bad, that I took my daughter and we enrolled at Saint Paul College, a MUCH better school where staff actually go out of their way to help you.

The main reason I am writing this late review is to balance out some of the obviously FAKE 5 star reviews written by MCTC staff. I mean really people, when your reviewer only has one review under their belt and it is a glowing recommendation of your terrible school - it is a dead giveaway. Even more so when said reviewer blames the student body for all the shortcomings and praises staff for their knowledge... Which they do not posses.

My only real issue is that I no longer remember any names of anyone that "helped" us, because I sure would have liked to mention them here.

Now on with my review: My daughter and I wasted an entire day trying to enroll here. That's right, I said trying. The staff is highly incompetent and lazy, and their sole purpose seems to be to misinform the students.

In the Student Services area, we asked the same question multiple times AND got different answers depending on who we spoke with. Really MCTC? Does anyone here actually know what is going on? To make matters worse, one of the staff was having a (loud) personal phone call while a line of students waited to be helped. But wait, there's more... After being sent around department to department, and eventually finding the proper person to talk to about a waiver, we find out that said person is not there today and no one else can help us out...

Eventually we got to speak with an adviser... She was horrid. Not only was she not helpful or knowledgeable, she actually thought that it was perfectly fine to stuff her mouth while "helping" us.

This is when I got on my phone, googled colleges around the Twin Cities and off we went. If they won't make time to help us, why should we bother?

A side thought: MCTC was the only college that would not allow us to come in and apply on a Saturday, meaning that I had to take a day off work. Both IHCC and SPC were open on Saturday, but apparently at MCTC Student Services only work M-F (and with terrible hours). Doesn't surprise me, considering how awful my experience was, but that is just another thing to...

I'm not really sure how they were able to do it, but with the right combination of inaccurate information, not answering phones, not sending the paperwork I asked for, hidden fees, fraudulently charging my student account, and staff simply not doing their jobs, they were able to turn one summer English course costing $538.00 class into an $808.00 class.

It began with the wrong information on MCTC's financial aid dept., which it turns out is not a financial aid dept but an advisory dept. They were answering questions that only after I got the wrong bill, they said were actually suppose to be answered by the business dept. who, of course, had a completely different answer than the financial aid dept!

It was so frustrating asking them again and again to send me the paperwork to fix their mistake. They kept saying why don't you come in? I would reply it would actually be better if you can fax me the paperwork or send it in the mail because I'm in college full-time and work full-time, so time is limited for me.

They said, "sure." Then I'd call back a few weeks later and ask why they haven't sent the paperwork yet, and of course, they'd respond, "What paperwork?"

So annoying. So now $538 class fee + hidden fees roughly $69.00 + secrete charges $??.?? (I cannot access my student account anymore), all because they wouldn't send me the paperwork to correct the first charge.

I don't know what happened after that because my student account suddenly died and I never received anything in the mail about my bill, which the business dept said wouldn't continue to grow, but low and behold...

The only pro to this entire college is that the summer classes are relatively easy. They know you're looking for an extra class not to compete your entire degree in a semester so they don't beat you over the head with assignments and such.

My overall thoughts are just be very wary of the false information they spread around and fraudulent charges they give you. Financial aid is finical aid, is financial aid... Unless you're at MCTC then it's finical aid until things go wrong now it's the business dept's problem (ie...
