I very much understand the store model, and the amount of scammers out there, which is why your employees need to do a better job of verifying what you were selling is authentic. The owner wrote an answer to the one thing I noted was my fault not checking the item before I left. But what they didn’t answer for is their employees rude conduct in behavior and accusatory rhetoric. I have heard people insult me more kindly.
I have had tremendous experiences at multiple visits to the Roseville location which doesn't share the same owner.
This place has the kind of folks working that make me happy to save money and ‘risk’ buying online, when I’d usually rather overpay to support local. Bought a tagged fig as a part of a larger purchase and realized in the car outside their window that the 20$ maul was a fake. Went in an explained I might be missing something but thought it seemed inauthentic.
I was referred to another employee who immediately stated no refunds and didn't offer an exchange, implying I had switched the figure which still had a tag on it. I left after being accused of causing a scene and came back in after a moment to be sure I was being calm.
I apologised if I came off wrong but was still concerned with how things went down. I was given a refund after the individual who sold it all to me backed up my version of events. At which time I was denied an exchange and told to take a refund an leave.
Glad I drove 40 minutes to overpay for fakes and be accused of switching a figure that still had its tag on it. Also I was being kind after looking at it for more than a second there were no lego stamps anywhere on the fig. I take responsibility for not checking it in store, but damn the way this was...
Read moreIf you are looking at selling lego at this store, don't waste your time. I just brought $1400 worth of retired lego sets in. Opened ,sealed all 100% complete ,and some other random minifigures and stuff. They offered me $400 cash or 400 something in store credit. When I said to the sales rep "that stuff is worth $1400" they replied "yeah?". Then I told them I wouldn't take less than $800, he chuckled and said "I can't do that". I spent 3 days rebuilding sets because they only give the "best value" if they are built. It's a total scam. They won't do online quotes, and won't give you their low ball numbers over the phone. If you are looking for a quick buck this might be your jam. But if you are looking to get even a reasonable resale price, don't go here!
I'll be resaleing these sets on my Ebay store. I'm sure I'll get more than 400 bucks there.
EDIT: I had to go back to this store to retrieve a lego box I left behind. Once I got there the Owner confronted me about this review. His justification for the pricing was basically telling me I have no clue how this works and I'm completely wrong. And I should consider the time little Johnny spent looking over my stuff and meh overhead. He gave me all the typical manager lines. But nothing of substance. They will give you way less than half of the items worth, and the owner thinks you should be great full. Don't waste your time.
The Owner went so far as to tell me "you just like bashing small businesses." But yet this is the 1st review I've ever written on...
Read moreIt was my first in one of their stores, and it was really cool seeing old even vintage sets in the flesh. The staff overall was nice. I ended up and older used set. Took home, built it, and realized not only did i not like it as much as I thought, but there was a piece missing. I took it back the next day and asked if I could return it. Now, to my fault, I didn't see the two small but clear signs at the front stating no refunds or returns on used sets. The guy offered me a replacement piece for free and told me he couldn't return it, but I could rebuild it and "sell it back" to them. So I went back, built it again, and brought it back in. He offered me 15 bucks cash or 18 in-store credit. Mind you i paid $85 for this old used set!! $15? Really? I was feeling like I was slapped in the face when he said that. I took the credit, got a dinky little keychain light, and went back home. To a degree, I understand the policy, but at the same time, it's frustrating because I feel like I just got plain ripped off. Not from Sioux falls but not likely to return when I...
