Plato's Closet, Minot — Local services in Minot

This store is not as good as it used to be! When this store first opened it was good. Lately it has gone downhill in a few ways:

1. When dropping off consignments they used to send a text when they were finished going through the clothing. The last two times I dropped clothes off for consignment there have been no notifications that my items were ready for pick up.
2. The clothing racks are overcrowded now and many of the items are faded, pilled and overpriced for the condition the items are in.
3. Care of items for consignment has declined. I dropped off clean neatly folded clothes for evaluation and received the items they didn’t take back in a wrinkled heap that was shoved in the box.
4. Staff are hit and miss. Some provide excellent customer service and a couple are rude. There are some good deals/items to be found here but be prepared to hunt for them. Also check them over carefully for damage and dirtiness yourself before you purchase them. I used to purchase more from this store but lately I have been shopping elsewhere. Hopefully it improves. They wouldn’t accept my donation because my clothes weren’t folded lmao. I’m sorry that I thought it would be easier to see stains or whether you want it or not if it’s unfolded so you can see the clothes as a whole. I’ve had 3 interactions with them and only one staff member has 5 star customer service. Initially I tried calling to ask if donations were taken. I told her I had 6 garbage bags of clothes and wanted to make sure they had staff to go through my clothes. The lady tells me the clothes can’t be in garbage bags; okay, no problem. I then ask, okay but you’re accept donations right. She repeats herself. I try and rephrase my question, and she talks over me again. I bring the clothes in hours later, and that staff was so helpful and sweet. I became hopeful again. I come in tonight and they did not even look at the bin. I know they did not take a single thing out. They just saw it and are too lazy. No problem, I will go somewhere else with my 6 bins (not garbage...

I’ve brought in a couple bags of like new if not brand new, name brand clothing and they only take the stuff that was cheap in the first place but not a new pair of shorts that cost $78. But the most recent bag I took in they basically stole from me. They only paid me for 3 items but when I went through my clothes I noticed they took at least 5.
