Initially I was excited to have a five below so close to my home. I have a small child and visit Five below quite often. So not having to drive to Miami Gardens or Pembroke Pines is a blessing ....or so I thought.. when I first visited the store I joked with the employee about only having self checkout registers, over time I have gotten use to it. Well today I had the weirdest experience... I popped in really quickly to grab something on my way out of town and the employee a small woman with long black hair and a heavy accent pointed to available āselfā check out register then entered my personal space and began scanning my items for me. Me obviously confused seeing that I was just in the store yesterday and scanned my items just fine by myself.... once the next customer approached the register and began scanning his own items I let the employee know āI can scan the items myself, just like him (and pointed to the next customer who was of Hispanic descent)ā she giggled I then told her āIām not laughingā and then questioned if the store is practicing social distancing??? She giggled again. I understand lost prevention completely and understand the statistics associated with self check out. She then proceeded to tap credit card on the screen and called the next customer to another register. Meanwhile two other Caucasian customers were able to shop and check out unbothered and Quite comfortable. I will be following up with corporate to see if they can provide some clarity on the checking out process and what safety measures they are taking to ensure their employees practice social distancing. Iām disgusted and highly upset about my...

He was on his cellphone and didn't ask if I needed assistance. When I intentionally went to the tech department in the back there was a Hispanic man and his little girl there with no store personnel there. I proceeded to leave the store and the manager followed behind me still on the phone. This is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI NEVER have problems with Five Below. But this particular location is very weird. I was constantly being hovered over while doing my shopping as if I came in with bad intentions. I understand certain protocols with self-checkout, but I only came in to buy a few items. The management needs to do better with treating with...
