I was shopping at Michael's in our Mishawaka, Indiana location for materials to complete a project. It took longer than I expected because some items can only be purchased online. As I proceeded to checkout, the cashier, Diana, received a radio dispatch from the manager, Andy, asking if I had items to purchase in my cart (insinuating that I had been stealing). She said yes. I didn't say anything to her about the dispatch. I gave her a digital gift card that I had just purchased. Diana told me that the gift card had no funds. I asked her to try again because I knew it was valid. She stated it was no good. I then asked her to call another team member who could help me. Another team member came right away and scanned it with no problem. I then told her what I heard when I walked up, and she said that was Andy, our manager. I asked her if I could speak with him. She went and directed him to me. I questioned him about what he said, and he instantly said I was talking about a canvas with a dumbfounded look on his face. I had a witness on the phone who heard everything from the beginning to the end of the conversation. This will NOT be swept under the rug. This is racism at its finest! I will be addressing this on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not normally gripe as I work in retail as well and understand that sometimes customers can be a bit difficult. However, this past weekend I stopped in and was interested in a product on their shelf. I did not see a price for the item and there was no price on the box. I attempted to match the UPC on the box to a price tag on the shelf but could not find a match. I walked to the front and asked an employee if they could check the price for me. She chose to roll her eyes at me and walk to back to the isle to check the price. On the way I told her I've already tried that. We get back to the isle and she proceeds to give me a price for a different item and tell me that everything on the shelf is the same price. When I point out to her that the item I want is also located on the shelf below she again rolls her eyes and tells me that she "literally has no way to scan the item". Thanks for your hard work. I'm glad I'm not your boss you'd be looking for work...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time visiting a Michaels store and probably the last. Customer Service at the store was terrible. Came into the store for a specific item that shown online that is available in store purchase. Went through 3 store staff including the store manager. Store Staff and Manager either said they don't have the item, it is exclusively online purchase only, or the website is wrong (No motivation in helping a customer out). I even show them the item online it show a specific aisle. I ask the store manager (Holly) to walk through the aisle with me. She still insist the web site is wrong and she wants offer to call customer service for me without checking the aisle and store inventory until I found the item and showed her it is available for store purchase. No purpose of buying things in this store as rejected for my purchase directed me...
