T.J. Maxx — Local services in Mishawaka

I love the selection they have here, and the prices are great too. What I don’t love is how frequently I find myself feeling rushed to leave the store if I’m there during the last hour they are open (I would come earlier but I work until 8:30ish). They’re always announcing over the intercom that they will be closing at 9:30 and more often than not they will say “we close in 30 minutes” when it is like 40-45 minutes until close. I work in retail, and if I made guests feel like they need to leave when they’re shopping during the last hour we are open, I’d be unemployed. Unfortunately it seems to me that this is just the culture of this store. Customer service isn’t a priority, and the employees would rather be anywhere else. They want to be out the door by 9:31pm. I wanted to try on 3 shirts tonight and walked up to the fitting rooms at exactly 9pm, 30 minutes before they close, and I’m told I can’t try on the shirts because they have to clean before they close. If I wanted to try something on at home and just return it if it doesn’t fit, I might as well just do all my shopping online. Seems like the employees don’t really care if I spend my money there or if I go across the street to Burlington or down the road to Ross. I’m starting to rethink spending hundreds of dollars...

I stopped in to get some of my favorite Torani syrup only, and to look around. This location is one of the worst I've been to. It was soooo messy, I couldn'treally find anythingorgabized at all. I was disappointed that they didn't have my syrup, but I was going to get another one, and just for th8s syrup and one other thing after standing in line over 20 minutes and the line was going to take atleast another 20 minutes or longer to wait..😱 I just left my purchases in the basket and walked out. 🤦‍♀️ I won't be going back to this location ever...

Affordable, current clothing, jewelry, shoes and accessories for youth and adult. Name brands on discount, over stock and irregular items. (Shoe department is for adults only. No youth shoe sizes.) Home interiors, kitchen utensils and bed and bath available but a bit messy as far as shelving and organizing but moderately priced with nice variety. Store associates are always nice and the checkouts are efficient. Our favorite TJ Maxx out of the two in...
