The first time I came here it was pretty good. Today however, not nearly as impressed. I ordered the mango roll, snow white roll, and a spicy tuna. I have a wheat allergy so I don't do the tempura, the staff decided to take it upon themselves the add cucumber to my roll. Don't get me wrong I love cucumber, but not in my spicy tuna rolls. It wasn't spicy. It was bland as ever. When I told the waitress about the issue, she rudely told another server about my complaints. Speaking to her like I was just a complete b*tch. I try to be as friendly as possible to waitstaff, as I've worked in food service for a long time. But I also expect good service, and the way that she acted was rude and condescending. They brought me a new roll, it was much better. When I thanked the waitress she just said "yeah" with an attitude as if I was inconveniencing her by asking her to do her job. I was very unhappy with the service. I was also very unhappy with the quality of the food. The mango roll was too sweet, with no spicy. It was tasty, but not what was expected. The snow white roll tasted reminiscent of Martin's sushi. Plasticy. I've also noticed they skimp you on the fish as well. It was embarrassing that I reccomended this place to a friend. I will give this place one more try, but there is a lot they need to improve on. The price is good, but I would rather spend $20.00 on 3 spicy tuna rolls somewhere else that's better quality with better service.
EDIT: I have changed to 1 star because I tried them again. I wrote on my sheet VERY clearly that I have a WHEAT ALLERGY and they decided once they ran out of regular shrimp for my mango roll, they would just use shrimp tempura instead. I tasted the crunch and spit it out immediately. The didn't even offer to cover our meal. They are very lucky I did not have an anaphylactic reaction. I am STILL sick from this and I ate there on Saturday, it is now Wednesday 7-3-19. I am VERY upset about this and will not be returning. If you have a serious allergy, I suggest you...
Read morePreviously, we have enjoyed eating here and felt like they were taking safety precautions seriously. Tonight when attempting to dine there, we realized that the waitress was not wearing a mask and later saw a member of the kitchen staff wasn’t wearing one either. We began feeling a bit less safe dining in the restaurant, though we saw that the sushi chefs were wearing masks and gloves, which reassured us. Upon seeing the waitress sniffling, the kitchen worker maskless, and having the waitress dip her finger in the soup she delivered, we determined we didn’t feel comfortable. Not wanting to waste food, considering the chefs were wearing masks and gloves, we offered to pay for our food and asked if they could box up our sushi to go, as we knew they had to go boxes. The waitress said that if we didn’t like it, we could leave, disregarding our offer/request, then went on to complain to another table about us. The chefs looked concerned when they saw us stand to go, so we asked if we could pay for the food they’d prepared and have them box it. They did not respond to us and went to talk to the waitress who yelled that we were trying to get her to put on a mask and that she didn’t know what we wanted. She then returned to us and yell/asked what we wanted. We again explained that we just wanted to pay and take the food if we could. She barely let us talk and questioned why we would come out to eat if we cared about staying safe. At this point our efforts to pay for what had been prepared safely wasn’t worth further dealing with the situation.
Would love to return when proper precautions are...
Read moreIf I could give our visit 0 stars I would. First off, I contacted them 10 days prior to our visit to make a reservation for a party of 13. They took my name, number and asked us to all arrive 15min early. We arrived and they "forgot" our reservation.. Second, the staffing is terrible. I give props to the waitress as she was the only one in the whole restaurant, full of customers, to wait on anyone. Third, they brought us our bill and we noticed that our hibatchi meals were priced far more than the price listed on the menu that was handed to us. What should have been a $12 hibatchi meal (as listed on menu) was suddenly a $20 meal. This is a large amount difference for a family of 5. When this was brought to the owners attention, he chalked it up to "those menu prices are outdated." What?!? Why would you provide a menu to a customer with incorrect pricing and then charge them more than the listed price. Sounds like a scam to me! He bluntly repeated his self and refused to honor the pricing listed on the menu. My family & I were frequents of this restaurant, but after the poor customer service we received tonight, we will not be back! So just a warning, if you chose to eat at this restaurant, plan ahead for your bill to be significantly more...
