If you support the men and women in our Armed Forces, shop elsewhere... Very poor experience. Specifically with the outdoor power equipment department. We worked with several different sales people, with mixed messages on pricing and military discount. My sister in law, a Major, was planning to buy a snow blower for my father in law, a Vet that has served three tours of duty. The experience that caused us to go elsewhere, was with a young sales person named Will. He wouldn’t honor any of the previous agreements, including a military discount, and would not let us talk to a manager. We called the manager from the parking lot, and it became clear that this was a top down problem. We then called Ace Hardware from the parking lot, and their sales person met us at the door, honored the military discount, and their manager also came and offered us an additional discount. We would not go back to Murdochs, and do not recommend it. Very poor customer care. We do not support those that don’t support our military.

Response to owner: Thank you, but we spoke with the Manager, and it was made clear to us that poor customer care starts with her. We actually called her from the parking lot. Our encouragement would be to encourage your staff, from the management on down, to prioritize customer service. Ace Hardware was impeccable in their customer care. We would also encourage you to honor the great men and women that have served, and are serving, in our Armed Forces. There is no excuse, in our opinion, for a business to dishonor...

Two weeks in a row I went to the Broadway location to try to buy a gun. On the first occasion, in the late afternoon of November 2nd 2024 I was interested in a 300 Win Mag rifle that I saw on display. I waited patiently as there was only 1 sales rep on hand. That sales rep was assisting a gentleman that was buying a shotgun with his background paperwork, I quietly asked if I could see the rifle when he had a moment. The sales man looked at me but didn’t respond. I waited for a few more moments and asked again.. At that time the salesman told me I’ll have to wait because the gentleman in front of me was actually buying a gun, and he deserved more attention. I left the store. Today, 13 November 2024 at noon, I brought my wife in to look at revolvers. I asked the female sales associate about a Taurus pistol that was recently on sale, she told me they were out of stock and the sale ended yesterday and that I was too late. She don’t ask if there was anything else we wanted to see and ahead didn’t offer anything else to look at, she just walked away and assisted another customer.

I love guns, I am a safe gun owner.. I cannot recommend that anyone that I know would ever go to murdochs gun department for any reason, other than to be shown that the staff needs some sales training and customer service lessons.

Good thing other gun stores know how to satisfy clients..

I don't really buy too much there I was very disappointed to see patriotic t-shirts actually made in China NSA wanted through the store I found that most of their stuff seems to be made in China. Not to mention it is also grossly overpriced! as far as dog fruits and cat foods I can get a way cheaper on the web or at Walmart or one of the other places in town. Also disappointed to see that some people weren't wearing masks. it bothers me when they say they're enforcing it for some people but not for others! All in all I wouldn't shop at Murdoch's because of the amount of merchandise made in China the lack of customer service and how overpriced it is I prefer buy and pay you in the USA or not buying it at all. I notice there was a response from Murdoch's owner! Not much of a response for a shallow the old white employee store loaded with murdered in China merchandise that is overpriced as a place where I don't see myself shopping. It's a joke you can get created by an all-white rude staff especially if your skin is dark and my case but that happens all over racist missoula. Anyway I'm not going back so it doesn't matter this is definitely not a friendly place I made an America place or a place where prices are reasonable.please...
