UPDATE: I went back to the store today & ended up speaking to the same person as per my original review. However, this time the outcome was more favorable. He was the manager on duty & shared he was following policy. I explained my dilemma again & we even researched my purchase and he understood my position. He gave me the credit for the item I was trying to return in order to make another purchase of some items I had forgotten. It turned out to be a win-win, but it shouldn’t have taken all that to recognize what was the right thing to do. I prayed before entering the store and asked God for wisdom to say the right things & not get upset AND for favor to be granted my request. My prayers were answered. I changed my rating from a 1 to a 3 only because things worked out, but again, it shouldn’t have required me making a second trip to the store.
ORIGINAL REVIEW. One experience caused me to give this rating. Had I not been treated as if I were trying to do something wrong, my rating would be different. On June 11, 2023, I went into the store to purchase braiding hair which I’ve done many times since the store opened. I am enrolled in their rewards program & if the history of my purchases was checked, he would have seen I’ve been a loyal customer.
Anyways, I purchased 4 packages or the Expressions pre-stretched hair (3 bags of 27 & then 1 bag that was a mix (1B27/30). I did this intentionally because I’d never worn the lighter color alone & was concerned about how it would look since my original hair color is dark. I tried to also purchase 100% human braiding hair in the 27 color (deep wave), but they didn’t have any. I purchased several other items as well. Fast forward, yesterday, I went & got my hair braided and didn’t have to use the darker hair after all. So, I decided to take it back (not to get my money back) but to simply apply the credit to a new purchase because I needed a protective covering for my hair to maintain it and forgot to purchase it. I had my receipt with me but when he scanned the hair, he said it wasn’t purchased at that store. Clearly, the receipt showed the date, time, location, & cashier who rang up the sale. The issue was the cashier scanned 1 bag at $5.99 & then just multiplied it by 4 bags. I didn’t realize that because one bag was a different color, she should have rand it up with its own code. I didn’t ring it up, she did. I don’t know their ring up policy, she should, but I don’t fault her because she was very nice and helpful to me during my visit. However, what bothered me is when he asked me which color was in my hair, I told him so he went to get a pack only to tell me that those weren’t from the store either & maybe I bought from another store. At this point I’m getting a bit frustrated because again, I have given you my receipt, I’m not asking for my money back, & now you’re calling me a liar (in sort). Being the educated & mature woman I am, I knew I was getting upset and was beginning to feel typecast. I left the store vowing not to give them my business again. Yet, this morning I woke up feeling that as much money as I have spent in that store, I didn’t deserve to be treated as if I was some random person trying to get over. I understand that “other” people may have done this to them before but KNOW YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. I’m not easily mistaken because of my skin condition. I do plan to go back to the store and speak to the manager today because while it’s only a $5.99 purchase, it’s the principle that I came in with what I purchased, along with a valid receipt & I could present the credit card I used had he asked. I’m hoping that this matter can be resolved so I can come back and give a more positive update on the outcome. I really shouldn’t even have to go through...
Read moreThis was my first time in CoCo Bella. The location is beautiful and clean! When you first enter there is a beautiful floral wall that looks as if you could take selfies in front of, so I did. There was really unique products in the store! My niece and I were approached by a really friendly sales associate which was extremely helpful and friendly. The reason I rate my experience a 3 star was, because upon entry of the store I it was the presumed owner, in which he gave a stare at and me and my niece when I was taking a selfie and didn’t greet us by saying welcome or anything. It looked as he was in a conversation with two other individuals, and as we walked in, he stared again, and looked at us as we were shopping around. Then at check out the associate was friendly, so we purchased our products, and I seen some really cool glasses, so I stepped aside and proceeded to try them on, and I let the other customers go behind me and check out. We were approached by a gentleman that was kind of creepy. He worked there actually. He continuously stared at us, as well as my niece and my niece question me in regards to the stares that he was giving us. He asked did we need any help or we was not going to buy the glasses? I told him I don’t need any help and yes I am going to purchase the glasses. As we checked out the sales associate then ask us, “Did y’all make my review “? I explained to her I’m gonna do a review, but I have to log into email account. I will do it and she was said yes please do it. They gave us a gift which was nice.It wasn’t a five star experience I must say, but I’ll give them...
Read moreDefinitely a place to visit for all of your hair care supplies. I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a store near my neighborhood which only hosts Walmart, HEB and other non-hair specific stores! This is the closest hair and beauty supply to Sienna Plantation, Vicksburg and Olympia Estates subdivisions which is highly convenient. They also have a LOT of inventory and wide selection of premium hair! From bundles to pack hair they have it all. They also carry REAL name brand purses and perfume! When you go make sure and join the membership and earn points towards your next purchases too! I did see a review about racism at this establishment that made me skeptical about going but after researching the information in the review it was not any racism or racial profiling at this store but at another establishment in Missouri City off 2234. (It was important to me to know what I was getting into as a black female going into this beauty supply). When you go to this store you are allowed to come in and take a look before you are greeted by a staff member. I was not followed around or treated as a potential thief or threat! So in addition to the great inventory, cleanliness of the store, membership benefits and knowledgeable staff it’s a safe and WELCOMING environment! I will definitely...
