Desert Thread — Local services in Moab

I was hiking in Moab in April 2016, traveling with a group of women. Trying to start a new sweater pattern, in a car with a lot of women talking is difficult. After many false starts, I got the opportunity to pop into Desert Thread while my friends visited the Moab visitor center across the street. They gave me 20 minutes in the store. The owner took about 3 minutes to ascertain my problem and how to knit the pattern, then made sure was I was successfully knitting before my friends showed up. I offered to pay a consulting fee but she said absolutely not, this is what we do here. You can always trust a knitter to be there for you. Oh, I forgot to mention, she did all this with her 2 year old running around, her husband asking her questions and helping another customer. Amazing lady. Thank you! I’ve been to the store a couple of years ago when I was first starting to knit, and it was a nice enough store. Friendly staff that directed me to a good yarn purchase. I went to go today and on their door was assigned that said they are closed for renovations. How awesome for them. The sign also invited people to their Wednesday nights from 530 till eight at the library. I thought to myself, OK, get outside of your comfort zone and go meet some like-minded people. I show up to the library a little after 5:30 and the library personnel said that they no longer meet at the library. And they haven’t sent in June. very frustrating to...

Desert Thread sells, in my opinion, the best pinon cream. It is made by a Navajo woman in the Navajo Nation reservation of Northern AZ. I use it for so many things. It is amazing for sun burn, foot skin cracks, athletes foot, chapped lips, burn wounds/scars. Had a minor delay with shipping an order and the owner called me to apologize and she resolved the situation right away. I was so impressed and thankful for her call.
