I am a pretty patient person and have worked in retail, so I understand that sometimes customers can just be annoying, especially when they’re mostly tourists. But I was holding a cup of ice and a water bottle, and granted, I did miss the sign that said no drinks, but the drink was gone and it was just a cup of ice. A lady working told me no drinks, so I took it outside and just poured the ice into my water bottle and walked back in. She then found me again and yelled at me again for having an empty cup because apparently if other people see the cup, they might get mad. I had corrected my misstep by putting the ice into my water bottle and was then just holding the empty cup and was still yelled at for it. I walked out and down the street to find a trash can and threw my cup away. When I came back, she saw me again and immediately went to talk to the lady behind the counter and started whispering something to her. I came to this place last year and loved it, so I was excited to return, only to be met with hostility over the principle of an empty cup. I understand you are just doing your job, but when I fix the problem and get rid of the “drink”, don’t find more things to yell...
Read moreZero stars for Arches Trading Post. Confirming what many other reviewers have pointed out about the joyless blonde shopkeeper. Initially my wife asked if a tee-shirt I liked was available in medium and got a flat "no" for an answer. Not helpful or friendly but at least factual I suppose. Then I asked if there is a fitting room where I could try on a different size, her answer was "you can put it on over your shirt and there is a mirror in the back corner". So Moab beign an adventurous sort of town I thought why not just duck behind a clothes rack and try it on for real since there were no other shoppers nearby. When I stood up she yelled at me "didn't you hear me when I said OVER your shirt". I was stunned and said nothing trying not to be rude in reponse. Then she yelled again "didnt' you hear me?" I told her I misunderstood the policy and left. I guess they stay in business based on the law of averages where a certain percentage of visitors will buy stuff at the first souvenir shop they check out and 95% of the time they don't run afoul of this charming model of...
Read moreWe were looking for a t-shirt shop on our way out of town. Apparently they closed at 5pm and while we were in there well before closing, the two ladies working were adamant about closing the shop. I was buying sweatshirts for all 3 of my teenagers and they made sure to let us know we were the last ones and that they were closing. They even kicked several people out of the store! We were very rushed with our purchase to say the least. They shouldn't have rushed us because I bought an expensive sweatshirt that I didn't really get to look over and has several manufacturing flaws, especially with the pocket. I ended up spending $135.00 for all our t-shirts and sweatshirts and while they have a good selection, nice designs, and a large shop, I would never go back there again based on that experience. As a shopper, we wouldn't have taken more than 5 or 10 more minutes, amd probably spent a lot more too. And as someone who has worked retail, sometimes it takes a little longer to...
