I have thought about writing this review for days and decided I needed to. My daughter's and I went to the holiday kick off over the weekend and stopped in. We've been in before and have purchased in the past but we will never go back again. My daughter found a pair of gogo boots to try on and that started the problem for the owner even though her husband/partner HELP my daughter lace them up. Then she tried on another pair of shoes and that seemed to be the breaking point for the fragile lady. Again her husband helped my daughter zip them up and then stand up. The lady then proceeded to loose her mind and yell at my 15 year old daughter about putting wear and tear on the merchandise and if she didn't plan to buy then to leave! First of all those shoes have probably been in there for years and she literally stood up in them 🙄. Second if you don't want people to try anything on, put up a sign! And to finish her husband was more than welcoming and told me after her out burst that she was "feeling anxious today". I really don't care how you are feeling, this is a business and you DO NOT treat customers that way! We will definitely never give this business any of our money again and I let several ladies know that...
Read moreOne of the most beautiful stores I’ve ever been inside — it’s a shame the owner treats it as a personal trophy case rather than an actual vintage store. It seems the owner is only interested in watching customers try clothing on, only to inform them her merchandise is “priceless” after asking screening questions about how the garments will be used, should they be bought (unlikely). People should have a chance to enjoy the magic of spending their hard earned money on unique, quality clothing without being hounded about what their intentions are with a piece as if they’re three year old children. If the owner is so particularly concerned with having her “babies” (referring to the merchandise) stay in her personal collection, perhaps it would be in her better interest to outfit a display room in her home for them instead. But then, of course, how could strangers come in and compliment her on end about how wonderful her store is? As a vintage wearer, it’s frustrating to see how often collectors hoard pieces they’ll never wear themselves either simply for the sake of owning them or to make an obscene profit. Vintage clothing should be...
Read moreI took my daughter in today to look at a dress that was in the window. The owner asked her what she wanted it for. She told her she cosplayed and wanted it for a convention. The owner laughed at my daughter after she showed her an image of the character she was going to use the dress for. She said, that is a cartoon and cannot be replicated. When my daughter asked her how much it was, she said it was for rent only, and that it was too much trouble to pull it out of the window. She said the sizes are different than they were in the 1980's, and a size 10 would not fit my daughter. My daughter is not a big girl. She told us that we need to look somewhere else after following us around the store for a few minutes. She stopped us from looking around to reiterate that the dress was smaller than my daughter, continuing from before with a condescending tone, as if we were too stupid to understand the first time. My child was really hurt by these comments, asking if she was larger than she is and if her hobby was laughable. I will never go back to this store and will tell everyone...
