Franklin Court Grille — Restaurant in Monroe

I had previously visited this restaurant with my Mother and children and it was awesome. When I had a real estate closing for a first time home buyer and Veteran, I wanted to hold it here and take them out to celebrate. They arrived first and were seated by a waitress. When the buyers and I arrived arrived, we sat down with them. The waitress brought us drinks and everything was fine. During the middle of our closing, the owner very rudely approached us to ask who authorized our meeting. There seemed to be some confusion among the staff about us calling ahead, which I did not because I didn't think it was necessary or any different than 7 people meeting for lunch. The restaurant was not busy and we were not holding anyone up. The owner was SO rude that everyone felt unwelcome and wanted to leave instead of staying for lunch or drinks to celebrate. I asked to speak with the owner after they left and I was absolutely blasted by a woman who said I was acting like I owned the restaurant by moving tables around and that she had a problem with that. She said she was a real estate agent and knew all of the attorneys around and that i should have called ahead. When I tried to explain I had not done moved any tables (because I arrived after the first party) and explain the misunderstanding that must have happened between them and the first party to arrive, the owner came out and told me to leave immediately - and walked me to the door. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. We will never ever come back here again. I had planned on bringing my girls here for lunch because they enjoyed it so much the last time, but I am actually glad they are home sick and didn't have to witness this. I would give this place negative stars if I could. This is the worst service I have EVER had. I’m a server at a bar and I would never have treated my customers the way my boyfriend and I were treated. First they wrote down the wrong number, and instead of asking me to repeat it, they just assumed it was right. Then when we came in and asked about our table they were rude and defiantly sat us at a cramped table. The owner or whoever the lady was who “served” us was rude and disrespectful as hell from the get go, and tried to tell ME I was in the wrong. She never brought me my drink, didn’t check on us ONCE for thirty minutes, and back talked me when I told her her service was terrible. Not to mention she GRABBED my arm??? Why do people in the south think you can just touch random people?? She was so rude, she had zero sense of good customer service and said our meal was free and basically threatened to kick us out. She told us not to come back. Which is fine, the food was a 3/10 at best and I’ll be telling people how abysmal this place is. They clearly don’t know how to treat customers. So disrespectful and disappointing seeing a place in the service industry treat people like that. -10/10. The lady who’s running it should not be working in hospitality. I would get fired from my job if I spoke to my customers like that. If you’re not willing to treat us with respect and accommodate your customer, don’t run a business It’s that simple. We have eaten here many times and is typically our go to for takeout when we have company as there's a little bit for everyone This past weekend we went with a group. The food was OK, patio seating is wonderful, the waitress was attentive and kind. Where our issue came in was the bill. Our guests ordered two beers which were both upcharged by $1. When they pointed this out, the manager did correct it (as it should be) so be aware to double check your tab that all items are keyed in correctly. My husband ordered a side salad with his meal. There was a charge for an $8 salad which the waitress explained was for the side salad. This is the price for the Thunderbird coupe and it doesn't state anywhere on the menu this would be the price for a side salad (or that this particular salad would be considered a side salad). I don't think most people would assume paying that much for a side salad. Despite bringing this concern up, the manager did not address it nor come over to our table. My husband left a review, not a one star mind you, however, rather than address the concern to maybe simply apologize for the lack of quality (or quantity as the size of the salad was smaller than standard), the owner proceeded to correct his spelling and not acknowledge the issue. This is extremely unprofessional and while prior to this response I would have eaten here again, especially to support local small businesses, I will choose to no longer do so.
