Return Policy Scam!!! I bought a game last week at a GameStop (GS) at Carolina Place Mall in Charlotte, NC for my daughter. During that time of purchase I wasn't sure about the game, but the GS employee assured me that there is a 7 day return policy for all pre-owned games if I didn't like it. On the 7th day, I went to GameStop in Monroe, NC and requested to return the game. I was denied as the GS employee told me that several months after Covid, GS changed their policy to 2 days instead of 7 because some customers were abusing this policy. With reluctance, I accepted his reasoning and we bought another pre-owned game. On the receipt of the new purchase, it states that "pre-owned games can be returned for a full refund with in 7 days for ANY REASON". I pointed this out to the GS employee and he told me that I would need to call the 800 corporate office as there is nothing he can do.
I called the corporate 800 number and the customer service support completely contradicts the policy by telling me that their return policies is only for defects or broken items. As I clarify that their terms states any reason, she argued that GS will not accept any return if the game was opened. Keep in mind that this is a pre-owned. So it's already opened and played with before I ever purchased it.
Completely horrible service and I would not recommend anyone going to GameStop to buy their pre-owned games since it's only $5 cheaper then new. Read moreThis is the worst Game Stop that I have ever been to and I have visited several Game Stops in the surrounding South Carolina and North Carolina areas! If you want good customer service and employees that will inform you about what you're buying this is not the Game Stop for you! I have lost 150 dollars dealing with this Game Stop. First time I went there I made the mistake of buying a 12GB PS3 and two 5 GB games. If the customer service was actually good like the other Game Stops I've been to they would have informed me that I'm buying two high GB games so I might need to look into buying a PS3 with more GBs (Every other Game Stop that I have visited has been very informational when it comes to what you're buying, they tell you everything you need to know about the product but not this Game Stop) but that conversation never occurred, they let me buy the 12 GB PS3 knowing I needed more room than 12 just with games I had bought on that same day and sent me on my way! All they care about is making a dollar, they do not care about their customers at all! Their Manager tells you lies to get you back in his store and once you get there he tells you y'all had a misunderstanding on the phone and now he can't do what he promised he would do for you once you got there. This is the absolute worst Game Stop EVER!!! I will never shop here again, they have another Game Stop in the Monroe Mall so if you live in the Monroe area I highly recommend that you shop at the one inside of the mall not unless you want to spend extra money and have the worst customer...

About a year ago, I went in to sell some games and was making idle chit chat with a female manager while we were waiting for the time delayed safe to open to get my cash. Somehow, we got on the topic of schools and how she home schools her kids. Out of nowhere, she said she does that in order to keep her kids from being exposed to "wokeness".

Tonight I was in there with my kiddo who was looking to spend some of his allowance. Walked in - no greeting, no music, no nothing. Cool, I guess I will see myself in. After picking up a few things and going over the price with my son, the worker said that accessories are BOGO half off. Cool. Going to the register and checking out, suspiciously the two things we picked out were not part of the promo. No sorry... no nothing.
