My sister and I arrived at your restaurant at 8:40 PM on a Wednesday night, an hour and 40 minutes before closing time. At first, a nice lady got our drinks order but another lady returned with our drinks and informed us that she would be our new server. This same server was overheard talking about how she wanted tog et cut off the floor and wanted to leave. My sister and I were ready to order; we only wanted unlimited soup because the soup is delicious. Once we ordered the server told us "I'll have to see if they have any soup left, they're already breaking down the kitchen." I thought that was weird since they did not close for another over an hour and a half. We brushed it off and once the server brought our soup, we asked for butter. We received the same response of "They're closing the kitchen so I will have to see." That's when I decided to ask the server what time they closed and she replied with hesitance, 10 PM. And I asked her if the kitchen really starts shutting down at 8:30? And she replied with "Yeah they do." This confuse me because if it is 8:30 and the kitchen is breaking everything down, what happens when people want to eat at 9? Even 9:30? So the time came to order another bowl of soup. And once again, the waitress kept saying "I don't know if we have any soup left. I can try and see for you." I really do not understand. You mean to tell me the kitchen is putting all the food away at 8:30 when you close at 10 pm? And that I could not get the SOUP wanted? We didn't even get entrees, just soup! Another couple walked in and was when we were leaving at 9 PM and we noticed they ordered everything perfectly fine and their server did not once tell them that they were running out or that she had to check to see if they still have it. I have been a server before, I understand wanting to go home. I also understand that if the restaurant is open then you are to serve the customers. No one else was getting this treatment, only my sister and I by...
Read moreMy children took me to Olive Garden for Mother's Day. This was a favorite, so it was going to be a special treat. I first want to say that the staff were working hard and very pleasant so this review is not about the staff. The cleanliness of the restaurant was terrible. What drew my attention to this was a busses was cleaning a table and her technique was to sweep the entire contents of macaroni and crumbs onto the floor and then spray down the table. I then looked at the floor and wish that I hadn't. I was so stained and gross with food. After looking around I saw that the state of the entire restaurant was sub standard and really just gross. Our plan was to eat our favorite 3 appetizers with the soup salad and bread stick meal. The waiter place the gnocci soup on the table followed by an apology that this was the last and the kitchen was making more. Basically he was preparing us for the cold congealed slop that he sat down in front of us. After a few bites all four of us just pushed the bowls back and focused on the salad and bread sticks. The salad was completely soaked in dressing and you could see it standing in dressing about 2 inched deep at the bottom of the bowl. The waiter as so busy he forgot to bring our appetizers as well as the bread sticks. When the appetizers did come they were cold as the must have just been left in the window. Still no bread sticks other than the ones we started with. What's the point in getting the all you can eat soup salad and bread sticks ? - When they never return with more salad or bread. I recommend not eating here, I certainly will...
Read moreFirst off, I would like to say my service by Mia was great. She was very friendly despite yall being on a wait. I know it’s stressful to serve a packed dining room so she did great in that regard. I have no complaints about her service and she did a wonderful job.
Where the night takes a downturn was in the food. I ordered steak. When I asked if they could substitute fries, they couldn’t. That’s fine, no problems. It’s a Italian-ish place, not a diner. I understand.
But the pasta I received instead was the blandest thing I’ve probably ever had in my life. No amount of pepper or salt could save it. It was like boxed Barrilla pasta lightly seasoned with water and air. It was the La Croix of pasta. Is the Alfredo sauce in the same room with us??
And, I ordered a medium well steak. When I tried to cut into it, it literally I swear to god bent the fork with the force I had to use to cut into it. It was the most pitiful excuse for a steak I’ve ever encountered in all my life. Shameful and gross, I wish I had just gotten McDonald’s at this rate and they would’ve given me at the very lest something resembling beef. Listen, I don’t expect perfection from Olive Garden, or anywhere for that matter. I understand sometimes the kitchen has a bad night. But this is the most pitiful dinner I’ve had in recent memory.
As I sit here, ravenous and confused, I wonder was I in the wrong? Was it too much to expect a sirloin steak to be edible?
In conclusion, my server made the night pretty good and made up for some of the miserable “food”. But, what the hell Olive Garden. Do better.
Bless...
