Service was excellent when we were there. It was 4:45pm. So before the dinner rush. All the staff seemed helpful and making rounds routinely.
I ordered flounder filets and my son ordered catfish filets. The flounder was the worst I have had. 20 years of traveling. Many seafood restaurants, coastal and in land. This was the worst Flounder. I am not sure what I was given. But it did not look like any flounder I have ever seen. Not to mention the texture was in my son's words "similar to a moist tissue paper pile". This fish was either not fresh, cooked and reheated or something worse. Could not eat it. After they replaced that with firmer fish the flavor still was terrible and it again did not look like flounder. Very old fish in my opinion. Would not recommend.
My son ordered cat fish filets. These were a bit better on the texture part. But the flavor was of old fish again. Definitely not fresh. And my guess is it was a lower cost catfish to save money. Not premium fish at all. My son was able to eat 1/2 of his before he decided he didn't want any more. He loves seafood. Never does he leave fish on a plate.
The baked potatoes were decent. Probably not to fresh. Not that hot either. They did melt our cheese before they brought them out. Which points to reheating of some sort before they came out. Just didn't seem fresh. But better then the fish. We both ate our baked potatoes.
I do not recommend this restaurant for any seafood purposes. If you know your seafood you do not want to eat here. Save your money. We left 52.00 of food on the table. Minus the baked potatoes.
I hate writing bad reviews. I try to find the good in everything. But here I can't do that. Trying to help save...
Read moreI want to begin this review that it had nothing to do with bad service although she could have picked up on the hint that we barely touched our food. We found this place because it was near Dunkin and my family and I were staying at a near by hotel and decided to have dinner there. I did think it was odd to be empty at 7:30 on a Saturday evening but we agreed to give it a try. They were out of clam strips and that’s what we stopped in for so we ordered the fried platter for $20.50 each and a hamburger and fries for our daughter. The food was terrible sadly. The fried fish was inedible and we picked at a few things then could not stomach it anymore. The girl offered us boxes but we refused. We did not complain and paid our bill in full and tipped 20% because we always do. I ate a bit more than my husband and normally would not leave a bad review but I was SO SICK all night and considered going to a walk-in but being out of town, I’m out of network that wasn’t an option. The food was not good at all. I’m sorry to say that and feel bad but my last day of vacation was spent sick in a bathroom all night. We are now on our way home and I still can’t eat anything and the thought of eating something makes me sick. I hope they rectify whatever food issue and no one else got sick. Just really sucks that my last day was spent sick in a bathroom and out $100 for food that was not good. $100 for bad food, very disappointing and dissatisfied. Going out to eat is a luxury so it’s difficult to fathom paying that much money for food that...
Read moreWell the fact this once popular place is empty at 7pm. People must have found out before us that the place has fallen off a cliff with service. Also the prices are ridiculous!!! Server was pretty much no existent most of the meal. Never once were we asked how our food was....so here you go.
deviled crab was like a stale thanksgiving dressing. No flavor, undercooked and seemed devoid of crab meat.
Tilapia was ok, presentation lacked...but the taste was pale...waste of a good fish
Baby shrimp was baby alright very tiny and over battered.
At these prices I would have expected a more quality type of offering
So what will be the excuse? Lack of staff ??? No...staff was here, more than enough for an empty resturaunt.
Our server was using a cleaning rag to clean tables, then stuck her hand in her shirt to itch herself. Next grabbed a broom and dustpan then holding the broom started filling salt and pepper shakers. She paused to tie a kids shoe and then went back to filling shakers. Never once washing her hands! I am editing as this happens..the kids are now filling the condiments also without any hand washing...where is the folks doing the sanitation inspections?
She has used the same towel to clean tables, and then wipe off the condiments containers...it's obvious this place has different management, if it doesn't...then I have to ask what happened?!?!!
I think this is it for a once really good place. Sad that after the fire it was good, but now has fallen to a very poor...
