I had purchased a scratched and dent fridge from Kevin's in May which had a minor scratch on one of the doors. I came in with my family to look at it and decide we could get over the blemish for the price. The buying experience was very pleasant. They loaded it up into the back of my truck and wrapped it in plastic and secured it with tie downs for me. Very pleased at this point .We get back to our house unload it and take the plastic bag off only to find marks across the whole front of the fridge which would not come off. Whatever happened it damged the finish. I went to look at the plastic bag see if there was any debris that could have cause this and I really didn't find to much but there was some kind of residue inside which most likely was the cause. I emailed them photos of the damage and wanted to see if they could do anything for us. I got a voicemail from them saying stuff and things and that they would get back to me. I haven't heard anything and probably won't at this point so I am writing this review so you can be cautious when having them wrapped your appliances. Unfortunately there is no way to reply to your last comment so I am adding it in to my review. I am thankful that you are looking for doors for us but how were we supposed to know that without you telling us? I am unappreciative of you saying that I asked or expressed that we have it wrapped in plastic when if you would have asked me I would have said that I have my own protective wrap. Instead when it was loaded someone put the plastic bag over it. I thought you guys are the professionals so I let guys do their thing and put my wrapped back...
Read moreThey did not show up on time for a scheduled appointment (almost 4 hours late). We were flexible about this, we just were frustrated that there was no communication to let us know what was going on. My husband worked from home that day to be able to be there for the scheduled appointment. He needed to know a time frame since it was running so much later than the time frame we had been given. Then, the repair man was unable to fix our washer because he needed to order the part. Again, this was understandable. He told us he would go back to the shop and call us before the end of the day with a price estimate.
We never received a call from them letting us know if they had the part or what it would cost to order. We gave them until the end of the next business day before calling to ask what was going on. The owner, Kevin, said sorry and wanted to call us back. After saying we were frustrated with the lack of communication, Kevin became very angry and said he had already said sorry, and wondered if he should "fire or punch his repair man in the kidney." Those were his exact words. This was absolutely the worst customer service we have ever experienced and we felt we were even pretty flexible about the whole thing. We will not be doing any more business with Kevin and will tell anyone considering it to...
Read moreBeen dealing with Genthe appliance and now Kevin's appliance for years for multiple used appliances (Washer/Dryer set) , two ovens, and a fridge.
My most recent purchase (a used oven) had an issue that turned up the weekend we after got it. The oven wouldn't heat past 175 and I called him on Monday morning. Someone was down in Freeport to look at it a day or two later. It turns out a valve part was needed and not available, so his guys brought down a similar oven a few days later.
My point being, the business was very REASONABLE to deal with through these issues, and maybe it's just because I am a reasonable customer. I've always felt like my business matters, the folks at the store and delivery guys are very friendly.
Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt, we all know some people who will never be happy, and I chalk it up to them being the most vocal customers.
5/5 for Kevin's each time. I will continue to recommend them...
