Extremely Frustrating Experience – Poor Inventory Management & Customer Service
I recently had one of the most frustrating shopping experiences at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Their online inventory showed that the item I needed was in stock, so I drove an hour and a half round-trip to pick it up. After searching through their entire inventory and even asking a sales associate—who assured me they had two in stock—I found out that they actually had none available.
I then had to wait over 30 minutes in line just to order the item from the golf section and have it shipped to my house. Three days later, when the order finally arrived, I discovered that the bag and gloves had been cut through with a box cutter, making them completely damaged and unusable.
Now, after spending over an hour on the phone with customer service, I’m being told that I have to take the damaged items to a Walgreens or FedEx location to return them. Only after they receive the return will they process a replacement—which could take another week.
At this point, I’ve spent five days trying to get a product that was supposedly “in stock.” Between the inaccurate inventory, wasted trip, poor in-store communication, damaged shipment, and slow resolution, this has been nothing but an exhausting process.

Read moreAsked a simple question, "Can I order something online to have it ship to store?" The associate replied and says "Yes". I go home and make an attempt to order the treadmill online, would you look at that will not ship to the store. So I call the store and ask them how can I get it to ship to the store, oh just come in and we can order it in the store.
I go into the store to just be told this is not possible. Thank you Dick's Sporting Goods for offering such great customer service to me. I wasted my entire night with the back and forth to just order it online through the website and have it shipped to my address.
