Market Street Mission Thrift Store - Morristown — Local services in Morristown

I have been supporting Market St Mission Thrift Store since early 2011. I would faithfully go there at least once per week. I have had great bargains over the years until 2021 the prices have quadrupled. I know that this Store supports the needy etc etc.but that doesn't give the managing staff valid reasons to grossly overprice some of the items. For example, I saw an ordinary 1 gallon glass jar for $10. This jar wasn't brand new by any means. I saw a stoneware soup bowl for $10. Now these items were not combined with any other items. I don't think that regardless of the fact that the proceeds go to good cause warrants the need for overpricing certain items. Once you buy it, you keep it. No returns/refund. I'm hoping someone will realize that marking up the prices doesn't really help to reach your goal to help the needy. I've sent a few people there and they were disappointed with some of your prices, so they went elsewhere. One of my friends wanted a griddle. She saw one (not cast iron) for $8. It was warped. I came in here today for the first time after my dad recommended them to me. Wow what a selection! The store is huge! I went in a little too late so I didn’t get to explore as much as I would’ve liked to. Even so I found a lot of awesome stuff for my apartment. I see a lot of reviews complaining about the price but I didn’t have that experience. I noticed a wide array of items at different price points. For instance I saw a beautiful black marble ashtray in a display case for $20. Not a bad price for what it is but a bit out of my budget. No big deal, I kept looking. I ended up finding an onyx ashtray for $4 that I liked even better! The staff was very helpful as well. When I was checking out the woman noticed I had random silverware and asked me if I saw they had entire sets which I had not noticed. She walked me over and showed me each set which I greatly appreciated. The man who wrapped my items was very careful and offered to help carry my things for me. Very good selection of electronics usually. Nice furniture too. Always a few good mid century pieces. I've seen bedroom sets in Good condition there and the prices are reasonable. The only thing is the staff isn't really customer oriented. They do their job but that's about it. Don't expect a hello when you walk in or any pleasant small talk. They may be volunteers and I understand that but maybe they could lighten up a little? That's the only reason I didn't...
