Morris Bagels And Deli — Restaurant in Morristown

I love this place’s bagels. When my family moved from Boonton Township, NJ to Florham Park, NJ, we bought bagels from every place within a few miles to find a new, good bagel place for Sunday breakfast, and Morristown Bagel won, hands-down. The bagels are fluffy and well flavored, and usually uniform size.

Except when they aren’t. One of the frustrating things about Morristown Bagel is they are so inconsistent. Some days the bagels are fluffy and perfect, others they are flat and misshapen. Which is fine, they still taste good. But the most frustrating thing about the store is 25% of the time that my family orders bagels in-store, they get the order wrong. We order 13 bagels every Sunday, usually the same order every week, and frequently we are shorted bagels or they give us the wrong assortment of bagels. Just this past week, the guy behind the counter wrote the order down in front of me, and when I got home, we realized that instead of giving us 4 blueberry, we had been given 4 cinnamon raisin and 0 blueberry. This happens more times than is acceptable. I’m not sure why the orders get screwed up as much as they do, but it really is a shame. As you may know many businesses do not answer the phone when there is a rush hour/busy period of customers coming in through the door and placing orders. Most people would understand that, however Carolyn came in demanding the business “Why don’t you pick up the phone” One of our lead cooks acknowledged her complaint, and compared a similar experience that he had to hers. Our cook would have to wait 1/12 hours to order one slice of pizza in a rock away pizza shop, and even he wouldn’t go into the store demanding the business “why don’t you pick up the phone” our cook explained it calmly, and professionally to Carolyn, however Carolyn refused to understand and remain calm. She lashed out her frustration on the cashier, and later shoved an innocent man near the door in a fit of rage. We order from this restaurant fairly frequently and have it delivered to our office. The past 2 times that we have tried to order from them, we have had significant issues. On 7/3/18, we tried to order and the man was very rude. He said that they were too busy to heat up the oil for french fries and to choose something else. He also said that he was not able to not put the peppers and onions in the American Burrito. Because he was rude and wanted us to choose something other than what we wanted, we ordered from somewhere else. Now today, we called and tried to order and he said he was too busy to take our order and to call back in 30 minutes and hung up. We called back a little while later to place the order and he again gave us a hard time because there were a lot of people ahead of us and he was too busy to not put peppers and onions in the american burrito so we needed to choose something else or the burrito would have peppers and onions in it.
