DO NOT USE LOY HARN! My husband bought me a second diamond band for our recent anniversary. We brought the rings in to have the new one soldered to the existing set. We brought it in before a trip to renew our vows. They had it for 12 days, and the day they said it would be done, I called and it hadn’t been done yet. And we were leaving for our trip the next day. They did get it done later that day, but I had a great deal of difficulty wearing them the whole trip, as they kept getting stuck on my finger. All three rings fit before the work was done. The rings were soldered crooked, and brought it down in size. I brought them back to the store to fix the size. They explained to me that when you add more rings, or a ring is wider, you need a bigger size. So they sized me according to that, and sure enough I needed a new size. However, they hadn’t said this or addressed this initially. So we left it with them to fix (which now means they had to cut all 3 rings apart). They said they’d do it on the house as this was their mistake. And they said the jeweler would be in Monday and it would be a priority order, done by Wednesday. It was not done, and when I called they said the jeweler still had it and it was up to him to when he’d get it done. I also had no idea my rings left the property until then. We chose a local family jeweler so that our items would be cared for in one place. They are not transparent about this. When they finally had the ring done, it was too big. The owner was there (the only time we have see him), and was unaware of the entire situation. He said “I have two stores and I can’t know what goes on all the time.” He was extremely flippant and dismissive. He offered to size them back down immediately. We were reluctant to even leave the rings again, but we needed them to fit. So we allowed them one more chance. They did fit better, but the owner made a mess of the gold bands. And he hid in the back when we picked up the rings, and made his staff handle us. Rather than speak to us himself and apologize for the entire ordeal, or make sure we were happy before we left. We saw him run out to his car as soon as we got in our car. We are appalled at the lack of professionalism, and the utter lack of respect for people’s valuable,...
Read moreI have been using Loy Harn Jewelers for years for checking, repairs and enhancements to my engagement and wedding bands. I was having persistent issues with stones falling out of my rings (purchased elsewhere). There were some unfortunate communication issues throughout the years with their prior staff and it led to my husband and I being upset about what we had paid for repair.
However, what sets Loy Harn apart is how they handled the situation once ownership became directly involved. Both the owner, Jason, and his wife, Keenan, made the trip from Pawleys Island specifically to meet with my husband and me in person. They listened to our concerns, acknowledged the issues, understood the sentimentality behind our jewelry, and worked with us to find a fair resolution.
Most importantly, they stood behind their work and committed to going above and beyond to properly fix my rings. Additionally, their jeweler, Allison, did exceptional work throughout this process and their manager, Joey, kept us informed along the way. This level of personal attention from ownership, combined with skilled craftsmanship and service from their team, shows they truly care about their reputation and customer relationships.
While the initial experience had bumps, their willingness to make things right and personally ensure customer satisfaction demonstrates their integrity and craftsmanship standards. I appreciate businesses that stand behind their name, and Loy Harn ultimately proved they do...
