Skagit Farmers Country Store — Local services in Mount Vernon

LOVE this store! I moved to Mount Vernon in Dec of 2020. Quickly discovered them for my bird and squirrel feeding needs, dog treats. I also started buying my wood stove pellets here. I have used them for my cat and ferret litter boxes for YEARS and they are great. They can be hard to find once it warms up. But since horse owners use them in stalls farm supply stores like this always have them. So love that they're just 5 minutes from my new place!

Once Spring came I bought just about all of my vegetable starts from them and LOTS of flowers. They had such a nice selection and really great prices. Lots of things I'd never found before as well. One thing I noticed today is a huge stock of Sloggers garden shoes. I've had a pair for years that I bought on Amazon. They are SOOO comfy and so easy to keep clean as you can just hose them off. I may get a second pair from them. They also have REALLY great looking women's boots alongside ones for men.

The staff there is also super friendly and quick to help if you need it.

I needed my propane tank filled up for the BBQ so I usually go here. I got there and no one was around at the refill station so I called their number and told them I was outside waiting. They said someone would be out soon. I waited for five minutes and there were no signs of life anywhere. Great selection of pet supplies. lots of cleaning supplies and products, farm animal supplies, and work clothes like Carhart and Georgia Boots. The clothing seemed a little pricier than other places. I went there for garden supplies and bought some locally sourced fertilizer, which was less expensive than the name brand stuff so that was a nice find.
