So sad and regretful that I trusted this place with my recently deceased mom's gold jewelry. I trusted them because she was very loyal 30 + year customer and I remember she loved and swore by this local shop as the best one and always brought them her pieces to work on when needed but they down right robbed me for the few gold pieces I did have to sell yesterday. When I got the price and asked what they offer in percentage of the actual value of the gold weight I then got the beat around the bush non answer with a hint of rudeness with no actual answer to what I was asking. Any other gold store will tell you if u call them on the phone that they offer 60% or 80% of the current value of the gold so it's very clear to us unknowledgeable hold sellers, But I was understanding to the rude shortness as it was end of work day. I was offered $30 bucks for a very nice gold cross and another beautiful gold necklace with amythest in it as well as gold diamond earring. I asked for the gem back to all of them and was told I was compensated few extra bucks for amythest gem in the gold pendant and given the diamond back to eating. I also had two twisted chains they said was so light weight that it wouldn't be much money and I'd have to pay them to untangle the gold chain from the silver one in order for them to buy so I took that back and reluctantly left with the $30 bucks they offered me only because I needed to feed my kids for the night and was only selling to get through til payday. I today took that dinky twisted gold chain to the mall at gold recyclers and they gave me almost $30 for that very dainty chain that prengers said wasn't worth much and I'd have to pay them to take it basically!!! I also was given no receipt whatsoever for this sale with what price pay outs for the gold they gave me and I really want my gold back now because they took advantage of me so so badly ..I guarantee I'd had been given $100 for what I was given $30 from prengers!!! I have 3 tubs full of moms jewelry that I was looking for help sorting and pricing t disperse amongst family and sell what's broken but now I'm so glad I know not to let them do this for me and offer me almost pennies !!!!Never go here!!! I've said a lot but it's wrong!!! Please don't let the rob you too!!! If I'm given back my pieces at cost I'll update this Google review and...
Read moreI was heartbroken when I noticed that I lost a pave diamond in my engagement ring. Being new to the area, I asked my coworkers if there is a jewelry repair shop that they recommend in area. Prenger's was highly recommended. At lunch, I ran over today to drop my ring off. The people were friendly and knowledgeable. They looked at my ring and gave me a quoted price of $45.00 to replace the lost diamond and reinforce the ring a little to prevent another stone from falling out. That sounded like a great deal.
I was slightly disheartened when they told me that it would probably take a week to repair. When I asked if there was any way that it could get fixed sooner, I was told that it could possibly be done by tomorrow afternoon. I left it there, keeping my fingers crossed that they would call me tomorrow to pick it up.
A few hours later they called telling me that they understood how important it was for me to get my ring back quickly, so they finished it right away and that it was ready for pickup. (Only 5 hours after I dropped it off!) I was so excited I nearly jumped up and down! Of course I rushed over right away to get it! The workmanship is beautiful. I am very, very pleased at how they matched the size and color of the diamonds, and reinforced them in a way that matches the style of the ring.
Any business that has that much consideration for their customers is a place that I trust. I will be bringing all of my jewelry back here for repairs. They have made a lifelong customer out of me! Thank you Prenger's for your kindness and...
Read moreTook my high quality diamond solitaire engagement ring and ring guard. When received back it definitely was not the solitaire engagement ring I had brought in. So they said they wanted to rectify the situation. I took it back in and when I got it back the 2nd time it was much worse than the first time. They ground down the information on the inside of the rings because they had the same stamp mark. Which they didn't come together many different years apart and from totally different cities. They removed stone to weigh and weight was off. They put the diamond back in crooked and prongs are not the same height . Plus I checked it out with a loupe and this diamond has scratches on it and also looks the a small chip. Real diamonds don't scratch except by other diamonds. The chip??? So I believe my beautiful high quality diamond was switched out for a fake. So, now I must take it to another Jeweler who can appraise it and has a gemologist to check accuracy of the diamond. Etc. these people get really good ratings and I believed and trusted them before. But not...
