DO NOT SHOP HERE. I needed a new phone, but did not want to change my existing plan. Fabian assured me I could get a deal on a phone without a plan upgrade. I clarified many times that I was only choosing this phone because of the sale price and wanted my plan to remain untouched. Lo and behold our next bill shows an upgraded plan we were very clear we DID NOT WANT. Now AT&T says I need to pay the full price of the phone rather than honor the sale price their employee sold me. It feels super shady.
UPDATE: I did reach out to Jason, the manager, as suggested below. He said there was nothing he could do other than to "try" to override the system and return the phone. The ATT loyalty department told me that is incorrect: it is fully in a manager's ability to compensate customers when their employees make a mistake. I envisioned a world of hurt coming my way: replacing the phone, retrieving all its data (not easy with a dead phone), not to mention a BIG expense. Fearing the worst, I stopped by AT&T's store on Soscol in Napa. Gabe served me. He totally got my predicament. Within a half an hour, I had a new phone, new accessories, data transferred from the old phone to the new, and all at a ridiculously low price (more than half the time I spent there was Gabe looking for (unasked by me) the best prices). When you go to the dentist, do you sometimes mistrust what they tell you that you need? You can trust Gabe. This is service that's so outstanding, it went out of fashion years ago. Read moreI love the AT&T services I receive everytime I turn on the TV. But when I need to go to my local AT&T store, I receive some of the worst customer service around. The rep told me "you (meaning me) are rambling on! I'm not going to help you!" I intended on settling a cell account after explaining the phone was stolen. I learned AT&T was still charging for a service I requested to have turned off the month prior. I was shocked! My friend and I left without paying the bill Now, 90 days later, I'm charged two months of service as I had paid the bill three days before the theft.
