Forge Napa — Restaurant in Napa

My friends and I had lunch here the other day and it did not disappoint. We ordered appetizers (cheese curds, street corn & angry shrimp); salads (beet salad with side of chicken & apple salad with side of shrimp) and mains (fried pork ribs with side of brussel sprouts).

The waitstaff was very nice. The food came in a timely manner. The cheese curds though very good, did not have a lot of cheese in it. It seemed some of the cheese oozed out 😞. The street corn was just okay; I was expecting bolder flavors but that did not come through. The angry shrimp was delicious! We were able to ask for how much spiciness we can take!

I can only vouch for my beet salad because I didn't taste my friend's apple salad. Her salad looked good and she said it was super delicious! My beet salad was fresh, and plentiful. It could use more beets but otherwise very tasty. My chicken though was a little dry, maybe because it was cut on the thin side.

I was able to try my other friend's pork ribs and brussel sprouts. First off, it was a huge plate. Plenty of meat and greens. The brussel sprouts were fantastic!! I think it was fried and then topped with cheese. It was delicious!! Alas, I did not care for the taste of the pork ribs although my friend loved it. It lacked in flavor for me. I have eaten my share of pork ribs so I should know 😁.

All in all though a great experience! I would definitely go back and try other things...

We've been regulars for Happy hour as well as popping in any time for years. We were really disappointed within the last week as we ordered the chicken wings during happy hour. The standard order was ALWAYS 8 pieces & the HH price was $8. This time, without notice upon ordering, the wings arrived with just 5 pieces. We immediately asked WTH, politely, and ,"the kid, not ready for prime time" said "That's our new HH menu standard order, 5 pieces vs 8" We said something like"well that's not right" and he simply scoffed and walked away. If you're making changes, you need to notify your customers at minimum when they place the order, & any staff member dealing with the customers needs to be far better trained than this "kid" I don't appreciate the condescending attitude from any server, especially when the point being made is valid. At the former price point of $8 for 8 wings, c'mon, you're still making money! Cutting back to 5 for $8 sends the wrong message. Napa sucks for the locals in that most everything is priced for tourists on a vacation budget, which is exactly why the majority of us are constantly seeking great HH deals. Forge is still pretty good, but looking like dark days ahead. PLEASE Michael Karp, address this...

This place is going downhill. Been coming here for years and tonight was not good. Arrived to a dirty bar covered in old dishes. The bartender literally placed the menus down next to the last guests old cups. We had to move them out of the way ourselves. He refused to make eye contact with anyone and ignored the whole bar. We had to literally call him over and wave to get any service. It was not busy. He would throw his head back irritated when a new drink ticket would come in and just generally had a “I hate this job” attitude. Pizza came out barely warm like it had been sitting around a while and they forgot the side. Took us 10 minutes to get his attention for the side. We wanted to sit outside originally but the band they have out there on weekends is so unbelievably loud you can’t. The last time we came same band same problem. Ear shattering volume I heard many people complaining about the volume both times. No one was sitting outside in the nice weather because of the volume. You would think that they would get it by now and turn it down a bit. I like live loud music but this is...
