TLDR: Patel brother's staff LIED to us about several things. Never buying fresh food there again. See below for more info.
Patel Brothers in Nashua, NH used to be great, but it's terrible these days, particularly the "fresh" food section located at the back of the store. My wife and I went there to grab a snack, asked if the vada pao was freshly made, which the staff mentioned they were made that morning fresh. We decided to get the one that was not the stuffed vada pao, but the vada pao that was open (more of a personal preference). I asked the staff if there was chutney (the sauce) already in it since I couldn't see it. He said it was there. I showed him that it wasn't visible, which typically it always is. He was persistent that it was there. I asked if I could a side of lassan chutney (the garlic red seasoning/sauce), and he mentioned I needed to go into Aisle 'X" to buy it since he "did not have it". My wife then asked if we had to buy a whole separate bottle of chutney to have with our vada pao if we wanted extra chutney. He then said yes, and she asked one more time to see if there was chutney available on the side. He then finally handed over a packet of chutney. We checked out, and then took a bite of the vada pao, it was NOT fresh, it was COLD as if it was sitting in a fridge overnight, and there was NO chutney on it at all. We were glad that we asked for extra chutney and frankly pushed for it, but the fact that he LIED about he (1) freshness (2) not having chutney and separately suggested we BUY a whole separate bottle for it is ridiculous. Never buying any fresh food from Patel Brothers.
My feedback to the store is: yes things are getting more and more expensive, and people are still willing to pay $4 for a vada pao, but at minimum, maintain the quality of your food and have integrity when serving customers vs. maliciously lying to...
Read moreHuge selection of vegetables, grocery items and other stuff. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. This place also has a small in house cafe restaurant that serves to go street snacks. My kids love their kathi rool. And my family loves their freshly squeezed sugarcane juice. I like my sugarcane juice with the hint of ginger and lemon. I also shop for the fresh coconut. It is ready to sip by simply poking the straw through it. They also sell seasonal fruits which is nostalgic. We buy their pickled Indian goose berry. Plenty of freezer items to choose from and desserts. Love their huge variety of snacks section. Also love their offerings in organics. Another nostalgic items, toiletries and soft drinks from India. Overall this place is one stop shop and at competitive prices.. love shopping here.
Update 08 Jan 23: more food choices in their ready to eat snacks section. They keep adding options for seasonal fruits from India. I recently tried the custard apple ( or apple custard) and water chest nuts. Steamed Water chest nuts were nostalgic but the custard apple not so much. Very expensive and was unable to ripe it in winter season, it went down the trash. Service is still great and grocery and other options keep making come for more everytime. My kids love to visit...
Read moreI am updating my review just for the service provided by Patel brother after acknowledging the complaint from my side. Mike from the Patel brothers not only assured me about the refund but he made sure it has been successfully delivered to me via check. I really appreciate the service and his communication, this surely helps us to regain the trust with Patel brothers. Thank you for the time and consideration. Please do not purchase mangoes here!!!! A total waste of money and how!! We bought a box of Alphonso mangoes and NOT A SINGLE mango out of 11 was good or even consumable. It is also costly compared to other stores. 1 box for $45. Considering we paid $45 and could not even enjoy a single slice of mango is highly disappointing and frustrating!!!! There is no representative present to answer any question related to...
