On this recent trip we stayed in 8 different hotels. Our experience at the Holiday Inn was good, but I decided I was going to write a review with things I want to know if I am deciding where to stay.|PROS: |We felt very safe here and felt that the parking lot was safe as well. | *They accepted two packages from Amazon for us, with a smile.|A lovely young women checked us in. Friendly and made us feel welcome.|It was quiet, EXCEPT one evening when loud music came from the building near the hotel.|Our air conditioner rattled loudly the first night, but we let them know that morning and when we got back the cover had been put on correctly and it was much better.|CONS:|It had a tiny ironing board. Not a big deal as I don't need an iron often on vacation. it would be nice to have a regular size for stability and longer clothes.|The safe was at the bottom of the closet. Ok for us, but difficult for older people who can't bend down and punch in the numbers.|The breakfast was just ok, a little bland.|The room is very sparsely furnished. A good thing for more room, but not exactly homey.|Overall, we were happy. A very short drive away is the Opry Mills Mall with a bus stop that takes you right to downtown Nashville. We parked our car at the mall and for two dollars a ride (yes, they take cash as long as it is the exact amount.) we avoided the traffic. The Grand Ole Opry was a quick, easy few minutes away and even though we had paid for parking for our show we opted to park across the street at the mall and...
Read moreMy husband and I attended the Opry Saturday night and it was enjoyable. Our beds were very comfortable, and plenty of fluffy pillows. The hotel was very quiet, no loud persons in the hallway. The breakfast area is very clean. There was plenty of various hot and cold items for breakfast and the food was delicious. Bagels, eggs, bacon, yogurt, you name it it was there. Coffee was very good too.If you walked away hungry then that’s you’re fault. My husband has diabetes and due to a high sugar episode he fell off a chair and 1st responders were called. The front desk was right there assisting me, offering to get whatever I needed. He was hospitalized so our stay extended 4 more days. The hospital was not far from hotel and every morning They would ask how my husband was doing and was there something they could do for me. The girl at the front desk was very pleasant and it was great to have someone to talk to upon my return to the hotel. Between Shauntelle and the male manager I felt safe and secure in this hotel at night while my husband was in the hospital.. The front desk staff needs to be recognized for being at the top of their game when an emergency happens at their hotel. They were wonderful and made me feel good and safe in...
Read moreOur room was an upgrade that was just perfect for visiting with our Grandson. We were able to sit in the living room area to talk and not worry about disturbing anyone because it was separated from other rooms by a bedroom and bath. The bath was pristine with beautiful swan towel sculptures that I rather hated to take apart. There was plenty of hot water and the shampoo, and body wash were luxurious and plentiful. The bed was comfortable for a great night's rest. We were able to adjust the temperature to suit us. It was perfect. We were not disturbed by noise from any other part of the hotel. The front desk helped me with my concern over the fact that we were coming in early. We were treated in a warm welcoming way. The breakfast room was clean and attractive with an incredible view of some open farm fields. The breakfast lady kept everything clean and well stocked. I enjoyed the pancake machine that only took the press of a button to deliver two pancakes in a minute. There was even sugar free syrup that I require for my health. I love sausage gravy and don't get it often. It was on the menu. Check-in and check-out were easy and pleasant. It was nice having coffee, tea, and cocoa available...
