I live and work in the neighborhood, and have really enjoyed coming here for coffee and breakfast about twice a week since they've opened. For the most part, they have a great team who serve good coffee and solid food. I trust that their operators know what they're doing, and they do it well. But what's completely inexcusable are a couple of insanely disrespectful interactions (or, lack thereof) with their front of house that has seriously pumped the breaks on how much we'll be coming back.
We stopped in to pick up breakfast and coffee early this morning on our way to work, but waited for quite a while behind a guest who was not placing an order, nor asking questions about the menu or anything else about the establishment, but was having an entirely social conversation with the cashier about their personal lives, including dancing. There was no one else in line behind us. For all intents and purposes, all the cashier had to do was ask to put a pause on social hour while she took our order, and could continue to go back to chatting. After listening to and learning far too much about both the guest and cashier's personal lives, with no acknowledgement from the staff that they even saw we existed, we both lost patience and were running up on being late for work. So, we gave up, left, and went down to Dos Santos for breakfast burritos that took 5 minutes from order to food up. We've had a slight annoyance with this same cashier before, asking questions about what we were doing for a long holiday weekend and digging deeper into our social schedule when it's completely none of her business.
Frankly I'm not sure whether I prefer complete disregard or invasive overreach. But can it be neither? Both are grossly insolent — the first, of my time, and the latter, of my privacy. Please, just do your job: Say "hello," take my order, and let us all carry on...
Read moreElegy coffee is a legend! This is their newest branch in Nashville and it is poised in a perfect spot as WeHo is developing like crazy. If I lived in this part of town, it would definitely be my go to coffee shop.
The coffee was awesome and dialed in to T. Loved my tiny Cortada in the smallest to go cup I’ve ever seen. Our party also had an Americano that was excellent and a fabulous Matcha.
Great shelf of merch – some of the best variety and quality I’ve seen. Great open mod/Boho decor. love the plants – which are absolutely everywhere! Great light in the shop too. And the bathrooms are the bomb!
All seating is table seating, not chairs and couchs, but plenty of room find a table, grab some Wi-Fi and get some work done.
The food is fabulous too – they’ve got some amazing breakfast burrito options and their pastries, while not from in-house, are delicious too. I love the crunchy top on the...
Read moreBeing new to the area I’ve been searching for a place that makes good coffee-based drinks and after several TikToks suggesting Elegy I gave the WeHo location a try. I am obsessed. I’m glad I don’t live to close or I’d blow my entire food budget. The drinks are top notch, to the point where even when the ice starts to melt it doesn’t taste like gross watered down coffee and milk. The burritos are delicious and the salsas are perfection, although I do wish they gave you more salsa for the price you pay. My only reason for 4 stars is that it is pricey in general. A drink and burrito is almost $20. Additionally, parking, as with most places in this city, can also be a pain, but you’ll still catch me here at least...
