I attended the Vanderbilt basketball game at Memorial Gymnasium on Friday of last week, and I had a great time. The game was exciting and close, and the crowd was loud and enthusiastic.

I especially enjoyed the atmosphere at Memorial Gymnasium. It's a classic old-school arena with a lot of character. The fans are passionate and knowledgeable, and they really get into the games.

The only downside to my experience was the high cost of food and drinks. A hot dog cost $5, and a drink cost more than anywhere else. I think these prices are too high, especially for a college basketball game.

Overall, I had a great time at the Vanderbilt basketball game. The game was exciting, the atmosphere was electric, and the team won. I would definitely recommend going to a game at Memorial Gymnasium if you're ever in Nashville.

Here are some of the things I liked about the game:

Unique atmosphere to watch a basketball game. Court and seats are arranged more like a theater rather than an arena. Fans we're very vocal against opposing team but not necessarily towards opposing fans.

I prepurchased parking at the 25th Ave Garage for $10. It was $15 if you just drove up. This put you a long block away from the gym. Traffic was easy coming in and just slightly busy leaving. Due to the unique arrangement of the gymnasium, you have to enter in the correct cardinal direction of the court your seat is in. There are maps outside that show you where you need to go, but for me it required walking all the way to the back side from where I parked.

The gym itself has some age to it. The seat was very comfortable. It was the old style theater seat with spring supported cushioning. It can be disorienting in the lobby/concourse since you can't see the court.

I had a great time and recommend the trip if your...

Such a fancy school deserves a better, less confusingly-designed arena. Team played terribly but it was fun! Vandy and schools in general should definitely be spending more on education than sports, but they kinda deserve a better court and the seating chart makes absolutely no sense. If you sit in the upper bowl, it feels like my low budget high school’s auditorium. The roof was super short felt like I was being closed in, and it obstructed the view of the game I was almost standing up in my seat. (You can kinda see in my pic) Tickets were cheap though so I guess you get what you pay for. Glad I did undergrad at Cincinnati where we have a gorgeous arena. Y’all deserve...
