In the past, Iāve had nothing but pleasant experiences at this location. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for my experience this week. On Wednesday, June 19, I came to purchase a birthday gift, specifically a coffee mug. Due to the delicate nature of this gift, I asked the lady at the register to make sure the mug was wrapped carefully, as it is a two-piece mug with a fragile top. I requested that the mug be gift wrapped just for peace of mind; however, the lady checking me out said they didnāt do gift wrapping at Hallmark. The top piece of the mug was placed haphazardly into a small scrap of bubble wrap and was not even taped, rolled up, or double wrapped for extra security. I made sure the items were placed carefully in the bag since no one at the register was willing to help me. By the time I got home, the delicate top piece was shattered, likely from falling out of the scrap, unsecured bubble wrap. When I returned to the store two days later with my receipt, the rude lady working the register said the item could not be exchanged and insinuated that I broke it myself. I ended up purchasing the same item, which she wrapped very carefully this time around. When I asked about a refund or some type of store credit or partial refund, she insisted there was nothing she could do until the manager returned at an indefinite date. I have included images of the item in question on this review to provide evidence of not only the subpar wrapping of the first broken gift but also to serve as a caution to others who choose to do business with this store in the future. Some one had stacked two on top of each other and she thought they were one. She picked it up to look at it and the one that was on the top fell off and a hand was broken. There was a rude man who worked in the store passed by my mother and then went and told the sales lady that she needed to tell my mother she needed to pay for the broken one. He did not have the courage to do so himself. He was not a nice person. I guess I come from the old school where accidents happen and people are treated respectfully. My mother would not have intentionally broken anything in the store and did not have a problem taking responsibility for the accident. . She was made to pay for the broken angel. As a result of the treatment from Mr. Rude, my mother and my family will not be shopping in the store. We will also share the treatment my mother received with our friends.
