I've shopped at this Kroger every single week for over 3 years. I've watched the remodel and have just gone with the flow as they moved things around, thinking it would only improve it. While the new additions have been nice, customer service has gone downhill. I recently tried to return an item without a receipt, I even told them I was more than happy with a gift card because I was about to spend $100+ . It was my fault that I didn't have the receipt, but most places will give you a gift card/store credit without a receipt so I didn't realize it would be such a big deal. I ended up at customer service for over 30 minutes. 2 of the 3 people I spoke to were fairly pleasant and eager to help me. The third was kinda rude but tried to hide her rudeness with jokes even commenting that my "excuse" of it being too advanced for my daughter wasn't a very good excuse and that wasn't their fault. I even told her that if she didn't want to exchange it, that was fine but no need to insult us. She laughed it off and said "no, I'll do it this time, but next time you need your receipt" I've worked in customer service, I get it, but no need to be rude to your customers. Now, on to the next issue. My daughter has autism, which can make things a challenge, so I was EXTREMELY excited when the store purchased some "Caroline's carts" for disabled people. It makes shopping so much easier, but here's the problem, they don't take care of these carts. They're constantly put outside and get dust from the construction on them, rain, and even bird poop. I spoke to a manager about it and was assured they would be stored better from then on, but they're still being left out. It's also a guessing game on which side they'll be on and I always lose. It's frustrating to have to search for carts meant for disabled people, I would think they would make them more easily available. Last, but not least, I don't think baggers are being trained very well. Items that shouldn't be put together always end up in the same bag (for example, raw meat with fresh vegetables or lunch meat; cleaning supplies with food) I know their jobs are stressful but overlooking something like that could lead to illness. There are definitely some great people working there, but training could be improved. By the way, I am the type that rarely speaks up or complains, so I wouldn't be on here if I didn't genuinely...
Read moreI have been shopping at this Kroger for about 16 years now. In the last year, I have not had a single trip without incident. A couple weeks ago I was assaulted right in front of the entrance, on the sidewalk, by a stranger who I then had arrested. Security informed my husband, after he ran inside to get help, to call the police but said he only works to stop theft and wouldn't be coming outside. Nobody from the store came to ask if I was okay, nothing. Every time I shop, the store is out of several things on my list - and it's normal stuff like Kroger white bread, 2% milk, etc. They have so many customers and clearly not enough employees, as evidenced by the long lines in the few registers ever open, and the total lack of midday stocking. I have many more complaints but it would take forever. What finally nailed the coffin shut today was when my husband came home with a rotisserie chicken, which is one of my favorite things Kroger sells. I love the seasoning, and the chickens are juicy and flavorful. I don't even mind that they have increased 25% in price just in the last 3 years - I like them that much. So I was confused when my husband brought one home today that looked...... Well it is a pale, completely and totally unseasoned chicken. As in, none. I took pictures, I was so confused. I asked my husband why he picked that one and he explained it was actually the only one that didnt look so close to raw that it was inedible. I'm sure they weren't raw. But I'm also sure that when you charge $9 for a cooked, seasoned chicken, it would probably be a good idea to do some damage control and use them for something else when an employee forgets to season them. My husband said none of them were seasoned at all. So why still try to sell it? How little do you think of your customers? It's just another example of super poor management in an already poorly run store. I will be getting in contact with corporate, because I have an entire folder in my phone of photographic proof that this store is alienating customers and providing routinely poor...
Read moreThe NA Plaza Kroger had become my go-to since the closing of the Grant Line location. Although it's far more convenient than the Charlestown Rd or Clarksville locations, I believe I will have to start shopping at those stores. The management team at NA Plaza is -- to put it as politely as I can and still get my point across -- absolute garbage populated by the rudest, most unhelpful sacks of skin in the area.
For example on 31OCT22 I entered the store at a little before 2pm. The service desk was roped off, so I asked an employee for assistance. He informed me that as an Associate he could not process winning lottery tickets. A Kroger employee in a red vest walks up and asks if I need assistance, then explains that he, too, is unable to process lottery tickets.
This entire time, there has been a woman in a gray shirt leaning on the gates by the exit door, watching as I engaged employees. Red vest walked over to her, she stood up and I saw that she was wearing a Kroger name badge. They spoke back and forth for a moment, and then the woman straight up smirks at me and says, "The service desk doesn't open until 4" shrugs her shoulders at me and makes a face.
I continue my shopping and come back to the self-checkouts at around 3pm...where there is a long line of people at the service desk that, according to another employee, had opened at 2pm... In other words, almost immediately after I had walked out of sight.
This is not the first instance of managerial rudeness at this location (or even the most blatant) -- it's simply the...
