This place didn't even deserve a star but it was the only way I could make a comment.... My friend & I were at this restaurant a couple of weeks ago (I travel a lot & have a very busy schedule). We were told by the "cashier" that they were still serving lunch which had "Buy one get one Free" lunch. However, when the waiter came to our table to take our order, we were informed that lunch ended at 3 pm, it was 3:10 pm. We had already been waiting to be seated for 5 minutes than another 5 minutes before the waiter came to our table. The manager "Olonzo", "REFUSED" to give us the special because the time was past 3 pm. I believe "Olonzo" was his name but he scribbled it on a piece of paper that was not ledgible. Although the cashier told the manager that he had informed us that lunch was still being served, the manager stood his ground & refused to serve us there lunch special. Needless to say, we left the restaurant & will not return to that particular restaurant if any other El Nopals at all. If this is the same service we get at other El Nopal Restaurants, I seriously doubt i will be dining at any of them. We had also ordered a glass of Sangria Wine which the manager informed that we needed to pay for but my response to him was " If you cannot accommodate a paying customer that was misinformed by one of your employees than I would refused to pay for a $5 drink." Instead of the manager making an "exception" regarding the lunch time frame, he chose to lose out on a possible $40 not to mention cutting the waiter out of his tip money. Which by the way, the time of lunch ending was not posted on the sign ANYWHERE. I am in the process of making a "formal" complaint with the BBB. The manager was extremely rude & obviously needs...
Read moreWe always love the food here! But tonight we wanted to brag on the night staff - one of my daughters had laid her Invisalign trays in a napkin. While she was accompanying a younger child to the restroom, the waitress cleared their end of the table, including that napkin. We were the last customers to leave, and it was already closing time. When my daughter returned to the table, she realized what had happened. We thought maybe our trash was still on top of a trash bag inside the restaurant, so we asked them about maybe looking for it (we meant us, not them). They immediately set about looking. The. Staff. Long story short, they ended up outside in the back, standing on top of the trash bags in the trash bin with a phone for a flashlight, searching for my daughter’s trays. It seemed a lost cause, so we told them to please not worry about it any longer. But as we walked toward the door, the sweet lady came running in to tell us they had found the trays.
Thank you El Nopal staff for going WAY above and beyond for us this evening. It was a huge blessing...
Read moreIf I could give this restaurant negative stars, I would! I ordered carryout and went to pick it up. As the worker charged me $56.00, I asked to see a menu. The price of the Pollo Nortena was much less than the $24.09 they charged me. He went to get a guy whom I assume, was the manager. He proceeded to tell me that I ordered the steak nortena! I didn't even know it also came in steak. I told him the order was wrong and my bill was incorrect. He proceeded to argue with me and he knew I ordered steak and not chicken!! What kind of manager does not try to fix issues like this?? He offered NO resolution at all!! I will NEVER be back and I used to eat there or get Carryout at least once a week. Now, they have lost me as a customer for what they did! Also, when I brought it home, the steak was black, dry, and overcooked. Funny thing is, if I ordered it then why did they not ask me how I I wanted it cooked?? They also did nit include any salsa. That is why I will NEVER be back! Shame on...
