I used to occasionally frequent the KFC buffets in Louisville, but they recently shut them all down. So I decided to make a trek to Indiana and check out this location on State Street. I was agog as I pulled into the parking lot, as their sign stated that they had a lunch buffet. I arrived shortly after noon, so they had been open for only about an hour. And I figured I would get a fresh and enjoyable meal because of it.
When I walked into the building, I noticed it was old, and the buffet appeared small and too close to the counter. Before ordering, I started glancing at the buffet to see if it would whet my palate. I first looked on the left and noticed there was only 2 pieces of chicken out, and it looked like someone had already picked some of the skin off. This did NOT deter me, as I realized like in Louisville, a lot of times very little chicken is put out because people walk out of the store with it in their purses or bags.
While quickly glancing over the rest of the buffet, I noticed there was some old looking collard greens or kale, and the mashed potatoes were crusty, as if they had been sitting under the heat lamp for about 8-10 hours. Also, there were NO green beans, baked beans, or corn, but instead, some old looking pinto beans.
I suddenly realized that this location DISGUSTINGLY uses product from the previous day to put out on the buffet, and nothing looked even remotely fresh because of it. At least in Louisville, they threw out the buffet at the end of the night, and you got fresh food the following day.
So after being initially excited when I arrived, I quickly became REPULSED at what I saw. And I obviously did not order anything from that restaurant, and NEVER will, even through their drive-thru.
In conclusion, the place appears to be a health hazard, is a dump, and I would give it a...
Read moreI have had my oil changed in half as much time as I spent in this KFC drive thru. This is not the first time I have experienced this ridiculous wait time here. There weren't even many cars ahead of me (5 when I arrived). Luckily the chicken tasted as it usually does, but it was not worth the 50-minute wait for "fast food". Our "large" side of mashed potatoes was only half filled. Do not expect to receive any dipping sauces either. They also no longer serve baked beans or allow you to split your family bucket between chicken and tenders. They do not comp with anything, whether it be extra food, kindness, or a dessert. I only try this place every 6 months or so, thinking surely the employee structure has changed since my last visit, but the experience is always the same and always regrettable. Do not recommend this KFC location to anyone who is hungry and does not wish to spend their evening suffering a lengthy amount of dread, frustration, anger, etc. awaiting food. Stay home and cook if this is your only option, as you will certainly have your food cooked and consumed in less than the amount of time you would have waited in...
Read moreI’ve stopped eating at KFC for the past year and a half to see if maybe it’d get better as far as service and food quality goes. Truthfully the only saving grace is they still make their sweet tea worth it's value, but that isn’t enough to entice me back again after a year and a half break. Guess I won’t eat KFC ever again.
They never give you your sauces you request, at least one chicken piece will always be rubbery when you bite into it, they won’t give you utensils. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to get condiments for your food that would otherwise be bland and dry, if not rubbery, and utensils for when you get something other than fries.
Doesn’t matter what KFC you go to, they’re all this way. It’s a shame a favorite from my childhood has become so garbage. The managers don’t care; they just say “sorry” and hang up on you without offering to make it right, and if you happen to get that offer, it’s STILL wrong...
