Spent over $1,000 framing artwork here. The overwhelming majority of the staff were very kind and helpful, despite several prints needing to be redone because the warehouse sent scratched frames or there were black flecks encased in the glass when I came to pick up. I was called for pick up five times over the course of the past month, which was annoying, but team members were at least willing to make things right.
However, on the last pick up, there was a different associate who was very rude and passive aggressive. There were still multiple (three) black flecks in one of my prints and she kept huffing and rolling her eyes while trying to say it was static that wiped off. Yes, several flecks wiped off, but there were still others on the inside of the glass. She clearly didn’t want anything to do with me, dramatically saying “I GUESS I can re-do it if you REALLY want…” and trying to dismiss me. I after a few minutes of back and forth and her repeatedly trying to gaslight me into believing these interior specks were on the outside, I finally said forget it because I was tired of dealing with her attitude. It really soured my entire experience here.
So whoever the older blonde woman who was working in framing on 8/12 around noon, I’d recommend avoiding. All other staff I interacted with (framing or otherwise) were great, and it’s disappointing to see a grown adult get petulant and snarky to bully a customer into accepting a final product they aren’t happy with. I’ve spent years working in retail and get how annoying customers can be, so I try to be empathetic any time I’m on the other side of the register. But this was a level of rudeness I’ve never encountered before, and was really...
Read moreI'm an artsy type person so I love going to Michael's...they always have coupons to use and they have a decent amount of merchandise dedicated to all types of crafters. I gave this store only 3 stars because of the people who work at this location, which I go to the most. The employees never know what or where anything is which becomes even more frustrating when it takes me 10 minutes just to find an employee to ask! I went in the store to purchase a heat gun to use with my embossing powders & the young girl didn't even know what a heat gun was nor what it's used for. Plus they didn't help me find it either other than to tell me "I don't know " and walk away. I ended up buying one online. I think the store would benefit from more knowledgeable sales people whom actually are artists and crafters & then this store would get 5 stars & probably increase their sales...
Read moreI love Michael's. I'm not a big arts & crafts guy, but they have materials and products I buy (Posca paint markers, for example) that inspire me to try new things. Various plain, boring items in the house are now painted. I saw a big hot glue gun, something I have ideas & needs for but you won't see these just anywhere. I've been going to this location for MANY years and everyone is extremely friendly. The checker today was young but knowledgeable, she brought the best coupon up on my phone, and patiently entered various phone numbers & email addresses my wife or I have until she found the rewards account. Store is immaculate, well lit and highly organized.
Great place if you need a bunch of stuff, or nothing at...
