We've been here twice, and both times, I haven't been too impressed. The restaurant hasn't been very busy on either visit, but the staff is friendly and helpful. There are a couple of notes on the front door--one mentions that some menu items have an upcharge and recommends asking your waiter for details, while another states that there's an additional charge for using a credit card due to processing fees. It's good to know these things in advance. I do wish the menu listed which items have an upcharge, but I assume the waiter would mention it when ordering. I ordered a "Create Your Own Combo" meal with one quesadilla and rice and beans since I wasn't too hungry (plus, I have a hard time resisting the free chips and salsa). The salsa is nothing special but does the job. We also ordered the Choridip, which was great with the chips and as a topping for our entrees. My husband got the steak fajitas. The food came out quickly and in generous portions, so we had leftovers to take home. Unfortunately, my chicken quesadilla was a bit disappointing--the meat was watery, which made the tortilla soggy. Overall, it's not a bad spot for the price, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Picture are basic tacos, which my husband thought was ok. Nothing special but then again he didnât really order anything too special đź. As an app we got the Choridip which we both thought was VERY good. It was piping hot at first so definitely give it a few minutes to cool off before diving in, but that molten cheese was soooo good. And then you add the chorizo and pick to it and now the flavors just pop. I got the enchiladas tropicales with steak. Would definitely recommend! It came with rice and black beansâŠthe black beans were in a Joel with their liquid which I donât love, but I cared way more about the enchiladas anyways. The only thing Iâd caution is if they ask you if you want rice and beans, itâs likely bc the meal you ordered doesnât come with it and theyâre 2.75 each. My husband would $5 to have the rice and beans if heâd known that. But overall I thought the food was vey good, the waiter was incredibly attentive, and we got our food very quick!

Been here several times. The food and service s consistently good. Got here about about 5:30 and seated right away. Our server got us setup with water and drinks. A couple Margarita, that were oversized :) We always get the table-side Guacamole. Love the fact that it's made fresh, and you can adjust the ingredients. We like everything, with maybe a few more onions. Both entrees were good. The Lobster Quesadilla and Trio of Enchiladas. All came out quick, hot, and had great flavors. I was disappointed that the lobster on the Quesadilla as small shreds, as opposed to pieces. It looked like fake crab, but did taste like lobster. They have much of the standard mexican cuisine that you would expect. It's not especially inventive, but what they do serve is all very good.

The food here is Phenomenal! I've been looking for a suitable replacement for delicious Mexican cuisine since El Fuego closed last year. And, Cocina Real is actually better than El Fuego was! I highly recommend getting the steak quesadillas or the steak tacos with onions & cilantro. The large Cocina Real Margarita is so big that it will last throughout your entire meal! I also recommend getting the table side guacamole! Tip them well because each time they've made it for us it was Absolutely Devine with just the right amount of lime, cilantro and tomatoes. They also give you the option of choosing mild, medium or spicy guacamole. I'm excited to taste their burritos, chimichangas, chile rellenos and taco salads. I'm looking forward to dining there again for dinner! đđđ

We had dinner at Covina Real with another couple. We had been there pre-pandemic and enjoyed it. This time, not as much. The guacamole from the guacamole cart was good, but pricey at $30, and there wasn't that much of it. We waited a good 15 minutes after that to get chips and salsa. I wanted coffee, which was on the menu, but it wasn't available according to the waiter. Time passed while we waited for them to take our order, and after that we waited longer than expected for the food. I would say the food was good, and we were going to finish off the meal with Mexican flan. But, like the coffee, it wasn't available. And the waiter never offered anything else for a dessert instead of flan. It was not quite the outing we looked forward to having.

I highly recommend stopping at this restaurant. We dined inside but outdoor dining is available. I had a very good blended (frozen) house margarita. Most frozen margaritas come out of slushy machine, not here. They make the margarita then put it in the blender to make it frozen. I prefer this method as I feel you get a better tasting drink đ·. I had the Chimichanga Verde which is a chicken chimichanga in a spinach wrap then deep fried. It had a great flavor and would highly recommend this particular dish. The staff was very attentive and very pleasant. They do have a bar area, if you just wanted to stop by for a good margarita.
