While we were in town for the weekend, we got a very enthusiastic recommendation to check out Brunch Berry in New Berlin for breakfast — and let me tell you… Ooooh my Lanta, DO 👏 NOT 👏 sleep 👏 on 👏 this 👏 place. Our server, Lincoln, was an absolute gem — attentive, friendly, and super helpful when we couldn't decide (because everything on that menu is basically flirting with you). We kicked things off with their seasonal Pumpkin Spice Lattes (yes, we ARE PSL people and proud). And listen… these were chef’s kiss fall-in-a-cup. Pumpkin? Present. Cinnamon? Absolutely. Cozy autumn feelings? Activated. Before we even ordered, they brought out complimentary little cream-filled pastry puffs with a jam dipper. Light. Airy. Gone in 0.8 seconds. Now, choosing our meals was the real challenge, so we leaned into our indecisive foodie era and ordered two sweet dishes and one savory, plus we love leftovers anyway. First up: The Southern Benedict. Two poached eggs perched on fried chicken, stacked on chive-cheddar biscuits, all smothered in a homemade chicken chorizo gravy. When I say this lands in my Top 3 Benedicts Ever, I mean it. The chicken was tender, the biscuits hit that perfect soft-but-structured balance, and the gravy? I considered licking the plate. No shame. Next: Oreo S’Mores Pancakes. This was ridiculous in the best way. Pure dessert-for-breakfast energy. You absolutely do not need syrup — these pancakes came fully loaded and ready to ruin whatever diet plan you thought you had. Finally: The Stuffed Pistachio French Toast (shout out to Lincoln for the suggestion). Stuffed brioche, pistachio cream, Nutella drizzle, pistachio butter, strawberries, and crushed pistachios. OOOOWEEEE. Luxurious. Decadent. Beautiful. We were silent for a moment just taking it in. Final verdict: Brunch Berry is that place. Warm vibes, memorable flavors, and food that makes you shimmy in your chair. If you're anywhere near New Berlin —...
Read moreUnfortunately, I left unimpressed. I was really wanting this place to be good, but I think it can be. It just wasn’t there yet.
First, the good. The atmosphere was great. Beautiful interior, spacious and pleasant. The complimentary cream puffs with mixed berry jam were really good and a unique offering compared to other restaurants. The potatoes that came with my meal (Garlic and Herb Omelette) were perfectly cooked with lots of crispy edges, though they were slightly under-seasoned.
Now the not-so-good. The omelette itself was very under-seasoned. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but it was just a plain egg omelette with a small drizzle of the herb and garlic sauce. Not enough to really flavor the meal. I expected more of that taste throughout the main part of my entree.
I had ordered my omelette with the chicken sausage (listed right under the item on the menu) which I expected it to be cut up and inside the omelette, but I instead received 3 chicken sausages on the side. Perhaps it was a server error in entering the item into their ordering system, so I’ll them a pass on that.
Our server started out fine, but then we noticed them standing around and talking with fellow staff as we neared the end of our meal when we had asked for a to-go box and our check. So service could have been better.
Other thoughts:
I want to this place succeed, and I hope that they do, I just think it’s not...
Read moreDecided to give this new place a try, formerly Point Burger Bar. They are open daily until three, we stop by towards the end of brunch on a Sunday at 1:30. Right away walking in, the atmosphere is amazing! They kept the high ceilings, but renovated the entire space in a soothing cream and Robin egg glue with a French flair. Every space from the lobby to the bar to the restrooms, just exudes serene and spacious, without having the sound echo throughout the restaurant.
Our server greeted us with complementary cream, puffs and berry compote, and brought our drinks out to us quickly. The menu is full of options, without being overly cluttered. Definitely something for everyone, including a number of high-quality vegetarian options.
My mom got the Vegetarian omelette with greens on the side, and pancakes. I opted for the House skillet over cowboy potatoes, also with pancakes. Food arrived fresh and the portions were overly generous. The omelette was fluffy, and not overcooked. The skillet was very savory, although due to the cured meats a little on the salty side. Pancakes were perfect!
Although we dined inside, they maintained the covered patio seating, which will be a nice option going into the fall. Unknown whether they will have heated options during the winter.
It will be interesting to see if this location expands into an evening service. Would love to see them reopen at 5 o’clock for dinner, with the same attention given to a small selection of entrées.
Overall, it was a great first experience. Price point was appropriate for the food, atmosphere and area – total for two brunch entrées and two non-alcoholic drinks was just under $40. Although there were kids menu items, the atmosphere did not appear to be overly kid friendly. A great place for a gathering of friends, or an intimate breakfast/brunch with...
