The Cake Bar — Local services in New Braunfels

Today was my birthday so my family took me here to celebrate, mixed reviews! It is a very cute shop like an old fashion malt shop. Now the rough review. We were not greeted unlike all the folks that came in after us. We got a slice and a flight. The staffs whipping cream tube was running out so we got little amounts of whipping cream. There was nothing special looking about our cakes. The coconut, chocolate and red velvet were so dry and with the small amount of cream not good. Then I paid for a can of soda which was not cold, I asked for a glass of ice and I was told no. My son was in line about three behind us and this is when I know our cakes look different than other people’s. My son sit down with a slice that was decorated beautifully with an abundant amount of whipping cream and jam. The placement of strawberries and his whipped cream on the top of his cake was done with Care and excellence. So I guess maybe I have to be a cute boy to get good service. There was a family behind us and just like my sons. Their cream was plentiful and their cakes looks beautiful, ours looks like they were decorated by a fourth grader. Not a great way to celebrate your birthday feeling like a second...

They gave us the incorrect drink. When my husband said he asked for a different one, she said no I heard you say the one I gave you. We had not drank it yet, not like they could've just drank it themselves and no loss to have good customer service. I said we discussed different ones but then he said the other one. At that point, my husband was upset. Paid $6 for an ok drink and then called a liar. I was actually standing back and about to do a live Facebook video because I live the decor and it's so cute. I did not do the live to suggest people to come. Which is really hard for me because I love helping local businesses. A few days went by and I wanted to give them another chance, hoping they would offer an apology or something. I messaged the owner and she said she heard what he said and stood by they were not giving the other drink that we asked for. It was very disappointing. This is not what customer service is. I understand us going back and forth discussing 2 kinds can be confusing, but he ordered one and they said he didn't. All that to say, make sure they repeat the order back to you and don't expect any humility or great...
