Complete unprofessionalism, terrible staff. We had 14 people ready to spend money. We were ordering oysters all around, drinks, and food. We were polite. Bartender couldn't even answer questions and rolled her eyes at our questions about a shot on the menu . ONE of us didnt have their ID on them, as a few of us had just floated the river. The other half of the group came from walking around the town. A large portion of the group is local. The one missing his ID coincidentally ordered water, no drinks. He was the only person id'd in our group. He is 22. His father was next to him. He was then told to leave, not move.....to leave. We were split in between 21/over section and family section because we were told they couldn't accommodate our whole group. They offered no options. When confronted the waitress yelled. Didn't diffuse any of the situation and got confrontational. Manager came over and told us we can "take the trash out to the curb on your way out." Situation could have been solved if she had asked if he could move one table over to the family section. Instead they kicked him out and told us to pack sand. Keep in my mind half of our group was sitting in the family area already, it was one of the most insane experiences I've had at an establishment that relies on people coming in to make money. Manager was so unprofessional we could only laugh. At so many times in this interaction they could turned this around into a good experience for everyone, they chose not to. Awful experience. We walked...
Read moreHad a horrible experience. Definitely will be calling in about it. Drove up from seguin because I heard it was a great place to go for oysters. My server never made eye contact with me, until the end. I kept asking for her suggestion instead I was rudely told just read. ID was expired because I recently lost my dl so I was refused alcohol unless I could find another form of ID, I could not so no drinks fine. She told me to leave, I asked if she could still get me the "clams" that's why I drove out here. She then mocked me, saying they're oysters, called me a stupid n##### under her breath & said she is refusing me service because it is a bar & minors aren't allowed after 7 Again the fact that I couldn't drink was fine, but her attitude toward me from the time I walked in to the time she told me to leave was incredibly distasteful & left me feeling both unwelcomed & disenfranchised. She didn't want to serve me & by golly she made sure she didn't. Normal I don't complain about racist behavior because it is my normal but not today, not this time. So to recap, horrible experience, do not recommend to people of color or people who care about injustice. I hope this is not a reflection of The Oyster Bar or it's upper management however this woman is apart of management so judge...
Read moreOkay, where do I start? First of all, I'm going to take most of the blame for my terrible experience with NB Oyster bar and grill. When I walked in and seen that clearly the place was more of a bar than a restaurant, I should have walked out. I went there to have a nice dinner with my father because he loves oysters. I thought it was a restaurant that sold alcoholic beverages. The place was a dirty mess and it looked like the furnishings were just odds and ins that looked like they had been bought at garage sales. That's not the worst of it though, the food was horrible with the exception of the jalapeno cream cheese poppers (kudos on those). The fried oysters were flat and over fried and the fried shrimp was the same. It looked and tasted like frozen food which didn't warrant the price paid for these tasteless dinners. The music was loud and obnoxious along with the young girl standing over me that was screaming across the joint for an individual in the bar. Lastly, the service was terrible but I don't think it was the lone waitresses fault because she was trying to take care of the place herself without success. Please beware, if you're looking for a social spot to drink then this place might work. If you're looking for a nice dinner,...
