I was recommened to check out Muck and Fuss in New Braunfels. This place is cool. Muck and Fuss is a great place to grab a burger and get your favorite craft beer. Sounds like my kinda place!
I walked in and was greeted by a very kind young lady and explained I would love to do a review on this establishment. The young lady referred me to Lora. Lora welcomed me to do a review and even gave me a grand tour of the facility.
Muck and Fuss is the restaurant, but the group that runs the restaurant also runs two bars and a hotel that is next door. Lora showed me around the hotel. The hotel was beautiful and modern. She then took me to one of the bard in the hotel which was sidecar. Sidecar was a beautiful bar ran by John the general manager. John was very cool and showed us around. Lora then explained the awards the Sidecar had won, and John humbly confirmed. John invited me to come back to the bathroom one day and was even open to a review in the future if everything works as planned. We left John to prepare for his day. Lora then showed me another bar that was rented by a family having a birthday party. This bar was named the parlour bar. It was more intimate and could be rented for private events. Then Lora walked me back to the restaurant and gave me the selection of a sitting at a table or the bar. She recommended the bar.
I sat at the bar, and all the bar staff were cool and inviting, gave great conversation, and didn't bother or bug you for drinks. Matt was especially cool. Explaining the menu. He recommended I get the most popular hamburger from the restaurant the Diablo.
The Diablo was recommended. The Diablo is composed of a Blackened burger patty, two jalapeño cheese fritters, jalapeño bacon, spicy Southwest ranch, fresh jalapeños, and pickled red onions on a fresh-baked Naegelin's bun.
The burger is amazing. The flavors flow and don't overpower. The cheese fritas in the middle is the star. It gives you a creamy, cheesy, delightful after taste. The bacon was huge, well season, and added a great taste abd domension to the burger. The pickled onions on the burger add a unique sweet tangy taste. The burger meat is a well cooked and thick piece of meat. I recommend getting it cooked medium rare. The spicy Southwest ranch and the fresh jalapeños added a great unique flavor and spicy but pleasant kick to the burger. The bun is great and soft, not your typical seseem seed bun, but it works and doesn't need no sesame seeds, lol. The Diablo is a gourmet burger without the price and claiming to be, you don't need to brag when you are good. The cajun fries was my side and had a great light cajun flavor that mixed well with the tenderness and crunch of the fries. It is just enough seasoning on the fries to give us a great side with an even better burger.
I was also blessed with a sample of the oregatan. The oregatan is an alcoholic drink that was created with a orange dreamsickle theme. If alcohol could meet ice cream this would be the Oregatan. All I can say is I was at lunch and needed to drive back home to San Antonio. The drink is favorable but has a hint of alcohol. If I wasn't here on official real estate business I would have definitely grabbed another one or two to indulge, lol. Lora reminded me it can sneak up on you, and if it does, I would be more than welcome to spend the night in one of the rooms next door in the hotel lol.
Muck and Fuss is a great place. Its beautiful, modern, and just a fun place to grb and grab a drunk or two. It is coupled with two great and beautiful bars plus a very nice hotel that is next door. You won't miss visiting Muck and Fuss your next time in New Braunfels.
The burger, experience, customer service, and beer selection definitely gives this place a...

Everything from the friendly service to the music made for a fabulous atmosphere, perfect after a long day at the Waterpark. Journey, our server, was quick to bring us waters and get our order started with some great cocktail recommendations (and a little sample of each to make sure we liked what we were getting)! The apps came out quickly and were delish! We had guac and salsa (the kids love the basics) and both were great! The chips here are realllly good. Also had the truffle fries and the tempura shrimp! The truffle fries are some of the best I’ve had- they are unique on the truffle fry “scene” because they were seasoned and have a truffle mayo but I would HIGHLY recommend for those of us that love a good truffle fry! The shrimp tempura was great as well, satisfied our 10 year old tempura lover- but these aren’t prepared like the typical tempura style either- they are tossed in a spicy mayo. Still crispy and delish!
We ordered way more than we could eat but enjoyed stuffing our faces as much as we could! We had the Spicy Juicy Lucy burger (honestly I think this was the best thing we had- it was GREAT!), the street cred burger the shrimp tempura tacos and the Born & Raised tacos. For sides we did the Pimento Mac & cheese and the specialty tots.
Both burgers were amazing - choosing one will depend on your own preference but I really don’t think you can go wrong!
The tater tots weren’t really my thing (but I don’t love tots in general). They are really big and sorta “stuffed” - I can see them being popular with tater tot fans.
Mac and cheese was fabulous- 6 year old and 10 year old approved! (And 40 year old 😁)!
The tacos were good - but the burgers were better, honestly! The Born & Raised is reminiscent of a breakfast taco so it’s just naturally delish! The tempura is good as well- it had a lot of the Asian slaw so if that’s not your thing you’d probably prefer the tempura appetizer instead!
We didn’t have any of the specialty draft beers, but we did have a few cocktails! I had a spicy jalapeño marg and hubs had their take on an old fashioned- both were approved ✅✅
Altogether I really think this is a can’t miss stop in New Braunfels! Add it...
Read moreWe had a really disappointing visit last week to Muck and Fuss and wouldn't recommend to anyone. We had a large group (12 people) and called ahead to see how long it would be to seated. We were told approximately 90 minutes, but that they didn't take reservations. That's fine. We told them we were coming and arrived 70 min after the call to be told we would have to wait 90 more minutes! We stated we were open to being seated at two different tables if they didn't want to put two tables together or didn't have two next to each other, or would sit outside. We were told no food was served at the bar but that we could check the bar next door (Side Car) where we waited for a table or two to open up.
We put our name on the wait list and sat around for over an hour before being pinged that our table was ready. The hostess (short woman in a bright pink dress with straight black hair) seemed very confused why we were there and said she could seat half our party but the other half would have to wait another 30 minutes (not at all what we meant by being willing to sit at 2 tables).
At this point, we had expressed to this restaurant we wanted to give them our money 3 hours prior and they frankly didn't seem interested at all. We were then told we could go to the patio and order a drink while we continued to wait (this was around 10pm at this point and we were starving).
Well, wouldn't you know it, you CAN order food at the bar! 0 wait. Drinks were good, food came fast, but mine was borderline inedible. I had the burger with mushrooms and blue cheese and it was tasteless and burnt. My husband had the breakfast burger and begged to split mine because he didn't like it. I had 3-4 bites of his before I couldn't stomach it either and had to go wash my hands because the bun alone was so greasy it stuck to everything it touched.
We ate and left. Ultimately we left about 30 minutes before closing. They never did let our group know that a table was ready inside, clearly willing to leave a group of 12 on the hook for 4 hours and then do absolutely nothing. If we could have eaten outside the entire time, why not just tell us that instead of yanking us around for hours? Then ultimately the food we waited hours for wasn't any better than something I could get in 5 minutes at a local fast food joint.
It was an absolute disaster...
