This was the most dishonest and fraudulent sales experience I've ever had. It was so poor and so flagrant, I filed a complaint and request for investigation with the Pennsylvania OAG.
I simply wanted to move existing devices to a new plan. The sales rep insisted I could get a better deal by purchasing a hotspot and an additional line, because of "promotions" that supposedly made it cheaper than the plan I wanted. After refusing to sign anything without seeing a printed line-item breakdown, I found he had padded the price for the plan I wanted by adding every additional item he could. He added Verizon's home protection plan, device insurance on a 5yr old phone, and changed my requested "5G Start" plan to "5G Do More". The "promotions" hadn't made anything cheaper; He had made the plan I wanted more expensive, while failing to disclose any of this.
Instead of apologizing, he doubled-down while demanding I not call customer service because, "They don't have access to the same promotions I do." To add insult to injury, despite never signing or agreeing to any of the additional items before I left, I found device insurance and the home protection plan had been added to my account anyway. I was able to remove these myself in the My Verizon app, but that they were added without my consent is simply fraud.

Most upsetting was when I tried to return a hotspot device and was told they couldn’t accept it because the box was torn, and instead would charge me for the device! They took advantage of my 80 plus year old parents when sales person talked them out of upgrading their iPhone for a flip phone android they have never used and could not use for a year because it was more complicated and they were instructed poorly (the sales rep also feed them lies about being out of iPhones and all old folks do better in the android flip phone). We had to buy them out of the flip phone a year later for over 1K so they could get back into an iPhone that ended up being cheaper monthly. They were lied to, received no support in using, and we had no way of contacting them out of state for months because of it.
