We can’t believe it when we found this place is exist and 10 mins from our house. Right away we said let’s go and see what they have. Me and my husband is a foodie person.. we traveled and we love trying new things. Peruvian food that we know in bucks county was only one and they were not that authentic. Now we have 2! So here we go with our own experience at Don Hector. The service was great and fast. The food that I like the most was the chicken… is a must try! I wish we got the green sauce that most Peruvian place has. The sides that I got wasn’t that much from my likings. I love fried rice.. but the fried rice at this place need a bit more hint extra flavor.. was to light and the scallions was chopped to thick and when I tried the rice I felt like I’m chewing raw scallions. Maybe if they cut thinner or sautéed a bit more longer to just enough soften them up a bit will be better, I mean this just my own opinion how I like my fried rice. The pasta huancaina it wasn’t like what I imagined. At first I was like is this Mac n cheese?! Because this place also have Mac n cheese on the menu but the nice young lady told me she was 98% sure that I got the correct order. So anyway i had to believe her but mentally with the macaroni pasta instead the linguini or spaghetti pasta for this kind of sides on top is yellow color my mind tells me this Mac n cheese especially when they didn’t have nothing else cooked with it, even tho it wasn’t but I eat with my eyes lol. But we can take it home and give to my son since he loves Mac n cheese hoping that he won’t realize that wasn’t. And yes I was also looking forward to have papa huancaina but we didn’t see they have it on the menu. Hopefully when the business getting better they will expand the menu a bit more. Overall we happy that Don Hector is near our house so whenever we feel to eat Rotisserie chicken we’ll...
Read moreMy fiancée and I tried Don Hector’s this past weekend for the first time on a whim and we will definitely be back. We were greeted warmly upon entering and then comfortably catered to as we navigated the menu. Without any pressure or rush, suggestions were made where appropriate and the charcoal rotisserie process explained with obvious passion. The chicken was outstanding: the flavor, the texture, the juiciness! The sauce that comes with the chicken was such a pleasant surprise and the extra diablo sauce we added was the perfect amount of creamy heat. All of the sides were fantastic in portion, quality, preparation, flavor, and even the packaging! We will definitely be back and will recommend to our family...
Read moreVisited Don Hector (for take out) and was extremely pleased. Finally an authentic Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken (pollo a la brasa) close to where I live. I was concerned it would be too seasoned, but it was perfect. Well cooked and very flavorful without being overly seasoned. Also had yuca frita and plantains as sides. The fries were not bad (but go for the yuca). The creams were also excellent. Note: this is not a sit-down-get-served restaurant. They do have a stool and bar area, but take-out is the best choice. I saw lots of options on the menu for sandwiches (example butifarra, pan con chicarrón) which I have every intention of trying my next time. Finally, well priced and friendly service....
