Came in randomly after receiving a ridiculous wait time for Bearcat that no food is worth waiting for. Pour House was a chance encounter. The woman behind the bar wasn't very attentive and wasn't very interactive. She made us get up from our table when the way the tables are, it would be a lot more convenient for the person who is supposed to be serving us, to serve it to us. The menu was small and had very tantalizing options, however, two of the things our small group had tried to order, they were apparently out of. Chips for nachos, and no burgers... disappointing. Overall though, the food that we received was top quality and superb flavor. The maple bacon whiskey drink, pass up on it. It's weird and too strong, this coming from a heavy drinker. Overall I would go back, just because it was some amazing BBQ, but the place has plenty of room for improvement. I ordered the Jayhawker with hickory sauce (all the sauces were phenomenal!) And Mac n cheese. Also the bomb. Give the place a try if you love amazingfoods, jjsy don't expect...
Read moreI've been in New Orleans for about 90 days, and this was the weirdest experience to date. The bartender was not particularly rude but had zero energy or vibe. Almost immature. A group came in, and after taking their order, she asked, Do you want to start a tab? Do you have a card or something? Who talks like that? Most bartenders state, Hey, I just need a card to swipe, and I will give it back to you. When one of them asked if she could turn the TV to ESPN, she replied, I don't know, maybe. Anyway, I ordered a margarita and brisket sandwich ($15 and $12). I give the bartender two 20s, and she brings back 4 dollars and 68 cents. I asked about the change because what I ordered was only $27, and with 10 percent tax, it is $2.70. Her reply, it's tax and gratuity. She offered no real explanation of the tax and gratuity and said, I just work here. It's not about the money but more about being a human. Not to mention, I've never seen a bar charge gratuity...
Read moreDanger. Violent staff. My wife and I went to the Pour House after walking the French Quarter to get a final drink and call an Uber. When I complained about being overcharged for one drink ($35) the bouncer immediately got in my face, backed me up to the street curb, slapped said $35 drink onto my pants and ground. When I asked him how that made anything better he got an inch from my nose and said “ what are you going to do about it” over and over again. Then the manager joined in but instead of correcting the needless escalation he just kept saying “ what do you expect. Get in your uber and leave”. Which I eventually did because a violent situation was about to become even worse for my wife and I. We have reached out to ownership about this incident but it doesn’t seem to be a priority for them. For safety sake I would avoid this toxic...
