Read moreOkay so I came here last year and thought this place was super cool, had a great experience here. Then today I came by to check out what they had going on for this year. I look around and pull out two costumes I was interested in trying on. I’m in the dressing room upstairs as I’m trying things on, some grown man is outside yelling at me to “try on and come out, you’ve gotta come out” Turns out it was one of the managers or workers there! So I ask if there was a time limit or something to try on a costume and the nice girl supervising said, “No there isn’t, but some people tend to stay in there and take photos.” I wasn’t taking photos of anything, I’m on the phone while I’m trying on too so they’re hearing everything that’s going on. Mind you I’ve only been changing for 5 minutes. This made me very uncomfortable. Being rushed to try on costumes when there was no one waiting in line. I come out the dressing room obviously upset from whoever just spoke to me. I ask the girl who it was that said that and she goes, “I think it was my boss, I’m so sorry.” He was wearing this purple shirt and he had grey hair and looked like he was in his 50s or 60s. If he reads this, is this how you treat your customers? Yelling at them to try the costume on and get out? Made me feel extremely uncomfortable and irritated so I let the friendlier staff know what happened and I left the store.
Probably won’t...
Read moreI've been a patron of this place since 1996. Recently, I purchased a $119.00 pair of contacts. I have purchased contacts before for a variety of cosplays over 29 years. I did all the normal, necessary things - took it out of the concentrate, soaked it in regular solution, put it on as instructed, etc. My eyes were irritated I could not open them or see through them. Additionally, the contacts would fall out after about 15 minutes. This was my first time ever experiencing anything like this. I contact their customer care, who without hesitation or any empathy, would not even address the concern. I would have accepted even a partial credit as I know how the business works. However, they were so convinced that I was being dishonest, they would not even consider that maybe this $119.00 product, which had no waiver, formal instructions or warning provided, was maybe defective or didn't work for some other reason out of the customer's control.
I've seen this business go from a friendly space to a business that distrusts their patrons over 30 years. You have to at least listen to the patron. This was not a small purchase.
