For the most part I've had good experiences with them. Started out by going to the office in queens where they sent me to a few places as a temp before finally shunting me to Fresh Direct. Everyone I've met, from both the Queens and Manhattan office, have been nothing but friendly, especially Will and Nadia who are in charge of finding people to work at Fresh Direct.
The place is great, considering they don't charge you a thing. They recently set up Direct Deposit so you don't have to constantly visit their offices just to get your checks. If you work for Fresh Direct keep an eye on the hours you work. Some of the people there are either lazy or forgetful and don't send your hours worked to Active, I've heard of one case where the security guards were signing out one person while he was still working in the plant. If it happens to you let Nadia or Will know so they can figure out what's going on.
About Fresh Direct, it is COLD in there so make sure you dress appropriately as you're basically working in a refrigerator for the better part of the day. Breaks are paid and they have coffee, although I personally think it's terrible coffee, for free in their breaks rooms. The people at Fresh Direct are also friendly if you make an effort to get to know them. I've also heard that working at their building on Review is loads of fun. The only bad things that come to mind about the place is, depending on the department, you might have to work a lot...
Read moreAs a Female and a member of the LGBTQ community I experienced trauma from working these jobs this company refer people to. I experienced discrimination from a company called Mana because everyone there speaks Spanish and was fully Spanish I was called a negro and the male supervisor kept touching me inappropriately and putting his hands on me from the first day I worked I only worked two days. And this is the not a the first time I experienced something like this working for active staffing when I worked for the company Chefd in 2018 I experienced discrimination and sexual harassment and was fired right after it happened as a retaliation and that was my first job with active staff, the hours active staffing say you’ll work and the hours the company say never me on point. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all especially if you young female them male warehouse workers be plotting. Plus active be messing up people check and a pay because of communication error’s between them and companies. I reported the situation I went through and they tried to place me in another company that was just as bad. Would not recommend at all for...
