Lovely church. I came here for the first time during the celebration of the feast day of St. John the Baptist. I went inside and saw someone talking to a lady behind a window, which is where you can buy Catholic items (candles, rosaries, prayer cards, books, statues etc...) I went in to pray then asked someone for information about candles and was directed to a monk or brother who happened to be standing by. He was very polite, informative and soft-spoken. Actually, all of the people there were older and friendly. I learned that the church would be celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Succor) and would have a procession on June 26th. This church isn’t what it was. If you must have a funeral there or any ceremony of circumstance make sure the priest knows both the spelling and proper pronunciation of the name(s) involved.
