My cousin is getting married at the end of the month and let's just say I put outfit shopping on the back burner for longer than I should have. I tried going to a couple of stores closer to me, but all the stores are extremely overpriced. After hearing about the luck my mom had here, I figured to give it a try. The prices are very fair. Honestly, many places around the area are fair, but you get what you pay for. I ended up really liking a very brightly colored saree. I wanted something unusual and out of my comfort zone, but I also wanted something that was not over the top expensive. The saree was on sale for 25% off, so it was approximately $135.00; the price excludes the petticoat and blouse. The cotton petticoat was around $8.00 and the blouse I ended up choosing came out to be about $30.00. Overall, the price of the outfit is great.
The prices alone may be worth checking this place out but there are a few critiques I have. Firstly, keep in mind that the place is small, but it's filled with clothes and it's disorganized, so you are searching for something in tight corners. You can spend a while here just because it's disorganized and sizes are not sorted. Another thing is, if you look foreign, they may treat you differently and not necessarily in a good way. My parents are interracial and they treated my mom and me differently prior to my dad stopping into the store. Also, they do alterations here; in fact, they go above and beyond to encourage as much alternations as possible. My mom had much of her saree customized and altered, but it doesn't necessarily mean you'll get amazing results. Her saree is beautiful, but I think the tailoring could have been better or a different size should have been originally offered. When I was looking for my blouse, they kept insisting on giving me a blouse 2-3 sizes too small, just so I can pay for opening the blouse up for a custom fit. I insisted around 6-7 times for my size and it was a struggle to get my size given to me. Finally, I tried on a blouse that fit beautifully, but they were encouraging my parents and myself that it "would look better" if I had used the "custom blouse" fabric and added it to the already perfect blouse. I declined and there was a bit of an attitude afterwards. Lastly, keep in mind that their hours are very strict. When they say they close at 9:00pm, it means they close at 9:00pm! It does not matter if you're in the middle of trying something on, you will not be able to purchase it after closing time.
TLDR; good prices, which makes it worth checking out, will try to sell you a different size so you can pay for alterations and can treat "foreigners" differently, do not shop there close to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis used to be one of my favorite place to shop. But now a days itās getting very hard to shop there.
The store is small but too much stuff. Then the ulceration lady there, so it takes up space .
I know the owner personally, so I hope he can make this store bigger & comfortable for his customers! Because itās just makes you feel suffocating!
Now the reason I took stars away, customer service ! They have an attitude which is bad for customer service . Living in NY city they still arenāt able to learn thisš¤¦āāļø
Back home customer service is way better! So itās not that they donāt have great experience shopping!
Maybe because they donāt have enough space & stuff to help the customers! Whenever you wanna different size or colors their faces changes ! Is it because itās a hassle for them to find stuff ! Who knows it could be!
The owner needs to get a bigger space before he starts loosing customers! The family is really good so I want best for them!
They definitely need to hire patient stuff ! We customers can be irritating sometimes but in USA there is a saying : Customer is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRude rude rude... i went in looking for eid shoes for my toddler and a woman rudely told me they dont sell boys footwear and walked away from me. On my way out I bumped into a male worker who sensed I was upset. I told him what I was looking for and the womans response.. he said they did have shoes and it's on the lower level. If you are not bengali or pakistani better not bother to even shop there. They give you things you don't want and try to push you to buy it instead of helping you to find what you're looking for. If you say no thank you to them, they get extra rude and nasty then will proceed with bashing you in their native language, perhaps thinking that you wouldn't understand them. Zero respect and classless to customers who are willing to spend money in their...
