The person that said they can do my hair (crochet with prebraided braids), she did the back fine. Cornrowed my hair & attached the braids. But the front needed 2 rows of individuals. She didn’t understand how to attach the prebraided braids. I explained to her the “stitchings” in and out have to be CLOSER together. The pic shows AFTER I explained they needed to be better. Stilll looks bad…I told her multiple times but she was rushing, ignoring me; then she literally said “No you’re done, you’re done”…these are my maternity leave braids. I’m too pregnant and tired to go back & forth, so I left. She could’ve done better but she rushed me. She was also rough with trying to comb my hair (from the root with a comb) so I said I’ll do it myself. Even though it was thoroughly washed, detangled, & sectioned before I got there. & the pulling my neck & back. Im going to re-stich the front crochet braids myself (something I didn’t want to spend time or energy on since I’m having a baby in 3 days). They do good work on REGULAR KNOTLESS BRAIDS only.

Hair looks like this after ONE WEEK and a braid fell out too! Called the owner and she said I would have to come all the way back to New York City from New Haven to fix it and that she couldn’t compensate me at all for the poor service. She also was incredibly rude about a payment mix up that happened when I came to get my braids done and tried to accuse me of scamming even though I literally just accidentally withdrew the wrong amount at the ATM because of the ATM withdrawal maximum and immediately paid the remainder plus tip after realizing. Not worth it for $250 and my braids are FRAYING a week later.

Very fast and affordable! I brought in a photo from Pinterest and the braiders were able to replicate it. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and was able to have 4 braiders at once work on my hair. I was in and out in 2.5 hours. The shop is clean and utilitarian. The braiders were very considerate and didn't braid too tightly. The hair is included so you don't have to shop around. I consider this a huge time saver! I would definitely return for future hair braiding.

Super disappointed. I’ve been coming here for about 3 years now and I’ve always had a relatively pleasant experience until recently. Went in for mid back, medium passion twists. I knew I should’ve left when I told them the color I wanted and they came to sell me on another color because they didn’t have mine…after blowing my hair out. I decided to just go with what they suggested because I had a big trip the next day. The first woman that started working on the back of my head was working out pretty well and another woman (that didn’t seem to be in a good mood) started working on the side of my head. It started off fine for the first row but quickly became in my opinion, unnecessarily aggressive. The second woman was pulling on my head like I was too tall for the chair or my hair was too short for her to grip (mind you my hair is shoulder length…) but somehow the first woman wasn’t having the same problem?? On top of that, they were doing two different sized twists. The first woman was doing medium, the second started doing medium but some of them were definitely large and butt length??? Either way, I paid and left. It wasn’t even two days into my trip and I was crying because my scalp was covered in sores and my twists were already unraveling! The entire perimeter of my edges were covered in sores and I ended up taking the twists out as soon as I got home. My entire trip was ruined and it was only like that in the areas that the second woman was working on. My hair is thinned out around the perimeter and I will not be coming...

This is the worst experience I have ever had in reference to customer service, price altering and such a waste of time. When I initially went to get my hair braided I was told that the price for micro braids down to the center of my back would be $140 (if they would supply the hair) I Specifically asked for human hair microwave. When I get to her salon however she tells me, “we don’t have any human hair you would have to go buy it and if we did human hair it would take too long and it would be $250! “ I was so shocked yet and still I did my hair there. The second time I went to get my hair done there when I got upstairs they told me that they quoted me the wrong price the last time I got my hair done and that will be $160 to get micro braids out to the center of my back even if I supply the hair. Which was $50. So now, we go from 140 to 210. Ridiculous! I asked one of the workers to Call the owner so that she could give me the quoted price and she insisted that she is not calling the owner and that she can’t tell them what price to do it for. There’s no price chart anywhere in the whole salon. They feel they just make up prices and they think it’s ok. When it’s not. The Better business Buerau will be next, then yelp. Horrible!! I wasted over an hour traveling from Long Island then another half hour looking for paid parking and another hour looking for the hair because they didn’t supply the color I wanted!! Waste of time! That I as a mother of three don’t...

I've found my go to braiding spot! Hallelujah! First of all the building is legit and clean very professional. Next...I am one of the most tender headed of them all! I usually need 800mg of Ibprohen to get through weaves or braids for days but I'm telling you...they took such tender love and care to my hair! It felt good!! I didn't need to drug up! Yes...I know seems impossible from African braiders to not kill your scalp but it's the truth ladies! They knew how to part just where my edges were thinnest and I can't tell you how grateful I am that I wasn't abused here. And I've been around looking for the perfect place because I am sensitive about my hair and the hands who touch it. All of the ladies were doing their thing and they were all polite as well! I felt comfortable. There was no shade and the atmosphere was quaint. The owner Aminata is a jewel. She did my crown area perfect and she smelled lovely too. Three ladies in total were in my head at once at times but they worked in unison so I didn't feel like a rag doll. I'd gotten small-medium box braids and I was out of there with flawless braids in 3...
