This is literally the greatest hair salon in NYC, if not on Earth!!! I exaggerate not. Furthermore, I would like to be perfectly honest that I really had no intentions of writing a review of this fabulous salon. If I can be selfish for a moment, I was never planning on telling another soul about this place just so I could keep it all to myself!! But, saying that out loud sounded really bad so here we are. I have been coming to this magnificent salon since December 2022. My first impression was that it had a really beautiful decor and the stylist were all great. I loved the fact that they didn't cater to only one hair type and there were clients that didn't necessarily look like me. It is truly a unique multicultural salon that can care for hair of all cultures. They excel at every service from basic hair care to extensions and everything in between. Although Amoy, the eponymous owner of the salon, is a renown celebrity stylists, she, Sue, and Geneva are the kindest, sweetest, most talented people I have ever met that are more concerned with caring for your hair and keeping you looking great than egos. They exude good energy that brings life and loveliness to your hair. I am amazed at how the quality and length of my hair has greatly improved in the short time I have been coming here. They use excellent hair products and are extremely skilled. The service is worth every dollar I pay and more. What would you pay for beautiful hair and excellent stylists that actually care about you and know what they are doing? I am not sure about anyone else but this would carry no price tag to me. Priceless!! I have zero intentions of going to any other salon. Ever!! I love coming to this salon, which is located in the heart of the UES of Manhattan. I sit and chat with Amoy and Sue about life, hair, travel, etc... while they teach me everything I need to know to care for my hair, then afterwards release me back into the world with perfectly styled hair every time!! My experiences here are always so positive. They have officially become apart of my self care ritual. Loving and caring for myself is vital and loving this salon plays a huge role in that truth. I would be remiss If I failed another reason why I wrote this review. I took a 3-week trip to London recently and forgot all my styling tools at home. Amoy had just did my hair the day before my trip. My hair had looked great and I just didn't need to think about it at all. A week into my trip I realized I didn't have a brush, a comb, a curling iron, Nothing!! Did I panic?? No need. The beauty of all of this is that I really didn't need any of these tools. Amoy taught me a trick for maintaining my style at night. I used the trick faithfully and my hair literally stayed salon fresh for 3 weeks!!! I visited Amoy Couture after noticing my edges had been badly damaged. I arrived at my scheduled time and was ushered into the shop by a very professional and cordial young lady by the name of Geneva. She explained what to expect during my visit and began the process of examining my scalp/edge damage. I was very embarrassed and not sure what could be done to make my hair look more presentable. Geneva was kind and reassuring and also gave me a few tips on what I could do to regrow the area. After receiving a wash and getting my hair braided I was introduced to Ms. Amoy who is amazing. She also was very professional and very reassuring, I was treated with empathy and respect. My hair is very thin and the edges were damaged by wearing lace front wigs, the adhesive had pulled my hair out. Ms. Amoy installed my weave and styled my hair in such a way that I walked out of there on cloud nine. She explained what she was doing and why she was doing it that way, she gave me suggestions for products that would help with the damaged edges and gave me instructions on use of the products. I purchased the weave hair from the salon and I am very happy with the quality, she also highlighted the hair per my instructions and it looks beautiful. I walked in feeling very insecure and embarrassed, but I walked out feeling like a million bucks. I would highly recommend this salon because I feel they truly want you to be satisfied and to look great! I traveled 2 hours to get there and I will be continuing to frequent the salon for maintenance of this beautiful weave install. Thank you...

This review is long overdue. I started seeing Amoy in 2021 after my hair fell out from being overprocessed at another salon. By the time my consultation came, I all but lost hope. Amoy took a look and came up with a plan of action, starting with the most gorgeous extensions for a protective style. The color she suggested turned out to be absolutely stunning too. Not only is she herself amazing, but so is her team.

Amoy's attention to detail is exceptional; she carefully listened to my concerns and preferences, ensuring that every step of my hair care journey was tailored to my needs. Her expertise in hair care was evident in the way she skillfully executed each technique, leaving me with results that surpassed my expectations.

The salon's welcoming atmosphere, coupled with Amoy's friendly demeanor, makes every visit a pleasure. The entire team, including Sue and Ian, contributed to the warm and inviting environment, making clients feel valued and appreciated.
